NAME OF TRAINEE : NEMUEL M. RIVERA
COURSE : BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN CIVIL ENGINEERING
COMPANY : PENTECOSTAL MISSIONARY CHURCH OF CHRIST (4TH WATCH)
Accomplishments:
Our training starts with short theoretical discussion about stair reinforcements and concrete mixing and pouring. My co-trainees Marfred R. dela Rosa, Eduardo U. Suazo Jr., Jordan D. delos Reyes, Ritchie A. Ligtas, Tom Ruzzel M. Aler and I where eventually requested by Engr. Rhea Rayos, our supervising engineer to visit the construction site which is a four storey commercial building located at Miguelito St., Paliparan, Marikina City. We were able to have a hands-on activity on how to install stirrups and reinforcement bars on stairs.
Our supervising engineer also taught us to manage a construction logbook. Its purpose is to monitor the entire development in the construction process. It is part of the documents required in any constructions by the municipal engineering office.
We inspected two more projects sites on Pasay City. One is the renovation of Maranatha Christian Academy building which is on-going. It will be replaced by a two-storey building to be constructed with “I - beams” with a working schedule of 70 days. And the other one is the Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ (4th watch) annex building where the materials to be used are G.I. pipes for post and angular bars for framing.
We were asked to do an as-built of the stairway. We estimated that the time frame of the construction of the stairs is 8 days.
