Construction of Beowulf Tower
As the last wish of our late beloved lord Beowulf, construction of the Beowulf tower has began. The tower will built in the place as the dragon’s tower, that was demolished last month. One of Beowulf’s famous last words were “ ... build it here, at the waters edge, high on this spit of land so sailors can see this tower, and remember my name and call it Beowulf’s tower.”(lines 1027-103) So to honor this request the tower will be built high until it touches the heavens, (3,000 ft) the tallest tower in all the land. All the people of Geat land and beyond will see the tower and remember Beowulf, our great leader, warrior and protecter. Beowulf’s tower is to be built in the traditional Anglo-Saxon fashion using wood, stone and ivory. Beowulf’s tower will be made to last, being hand crafted by the best architects in all the land. Our men have traveled to far away lands to collect the finest materials to build with such as, wood imported from the hill of the Alps, marble from Rome and ivory from animals from Africa. Every wall of the tower will be decorated in armory and mail shirts crafted by the best black smiths in the land, and beautiful tapestries sone with gold thread. The stories of all Beowulf’s tremendous battles will be engraved into the stone walls of the tower. This tower wont only serve as a sign of Beowulf’s great power and greatness but also as his resting place for eternity. In the center of the main hall of the tower will be a Giant gold, and gem studded statue of Beowulf in a heroic stance to mark his tomb. Beowulf’s ashes will be spread throughout the grounds of the tower so his presents will always be there. The tower is built to try and in capture Beowulf’s character and how he wanted to be remembered as a strong fearless leader courageous warrior, and loyal leader of his people.
