Construction of the Berlin Wall the Berlin wall was constructed by the communist government of East Germany to prevent the tide of refugees from attempting to leave East Berlin to divide the two of east and West Berlin which started on the 13th of August 1961 and completed in 1992. Later on the years of East Berlin it started to open parts to cross in November 1989, and soon the West opened a new crossing so they were able to transport the waste from West into the East German Dumps. The construction of the Berlin wall was important to prolonging the tension between the US and the USSR because during that time of the war, West Germany was one of the nations that was receiving aid from the United.
