A. INTRODUCTION

* Green Building
Green buildings are designed and operated to reduce the overall impact of the built environment on its surroundings which means reducing building impact on human health and environment during the building’s lifecycle through saving energy and resources, recycling materials and minimising the emission of toxic substances.
International research confirms that green buildings consume less energy, less water and generate less waste and create a healthy and productive environment for employees. (by TONY ARNEL, World Green Building Council)
Different countries have their own rating system of green building for example GBI (Green Building Index0) in Malaysia, Green Building Council

I also plan to address implementing a recycle program in the building which will assist employees that are interested in becoming more environmentally friendly. I will also look into implementing a “green” roof which will…

    As governor, Miller campaigned to establish a state lottery. He succeeded in getting laws passed that restricted lottery proceeds to fund pre-kindergarten programs, capital and technology enhancements for Georgia schools, and most innovative of all, the HOPE Scholarship program. HOPE scholarships provide full tuition at any state college or university to any Georgia resident who graduates from high school with at least a B average. In 1992 voters passed the lottery, and the programs that the lottery funds were launched in 1993. Miller also signed legislation that gave Georgia the toughest repeat offender sentencing guidelines in the nation.…

    Going green has its strengths for many companies, the buildings will be more electrically efficient due to better insulation and more efficient machinery and, employees will be happier because they are working in better conditions. A weakness would be if the upgrades are made in the wrong locations; if employees do not experience the benefits of the upgrades it will have little effect on morale. Once opportunities for expansion become available again, procuring buildings that have green technology in place will be additionally advantageous. A major threat to going green is expending too much cash at one time during the upgrade process; this process has to be done…

    (ASBEC) suggests that the building sector is directly responsible for around 24% of the total energy use. At present this is split fairly evenly between the residential and commercial building sectors. Reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions has been presented with increasing urgency within recent years as it is driving climate change.
