Introduction
The restructure within CCC opened the organisation to many problems leading to different structures as set by the different VP of the different division leading to no proper coordination between the three divisions. Ed White has identified a few concerns that contribute to this problem and a few other issues that the organisation is currently experiencing. The following will suggest ways that CCC can address these problems.

Problem Statement
Evaluation of current business situation within Continental Computers Corporation within the various divisions is as follows:
Organisational Strategy - misalignment

Continental Computer Corporation does not have a single strategy which is aligned from the corporate headquarters division down to all the rest of the divisions.
There is no adequate set of objective defined initially within the Group of companies.
The Company failed many times because they couldn’t get corporate agreement or understanding.
Each division operates as a separate entity.
Each division is permitted to have there their own vice presidents and managers who have their own organisational structures as they so please.
Co-ordination of efforts between divisions is a huge challenge because of the silos and deferent structures in place.

Divisional structure is flexible and responsive to change, because each unit focuses on its own environment. Coordinating among different functions within the division benefits from singleness of purpose, because each division is a self contained unit, responsibility and accountability…

Altogether, there are about eight organizational structure types. Each company has to find a way of putting these “pieces of the puzzle” into one well thought-out outline to represent the necessary relationships. In this case, we’ll be looking at the divisional structure. According to the text, “as organizations grow and become increasingly diversified, they find that functional departments have difficulty managing a wide variety of products, customers, and geographic regions. In this case, organizations may restructure to group all functions into a single division and duplicate each of the functions across all the divisions (Bateman and Snell 8th edition, 2009).”…

Several concerns emerged within the company as functions are colliding and the system are deemed to be biased. Basic task such as budgets and performance reports are viewed as influenced by the relationship between the divisional general manager and the divisional controller. After careful study to another company in Martex, Mr Bevins enthused to reinvent Rendell’s organizational structure. One of the tangible change is to transform the relationship of controller to be more direct, divisional controller should report straight to him instead of the general managers. Nevertheless, arguments arose to reconsider the transformation as other employee such as his assistant, argues that general managers would be reluctant to have a direct relationship because the division controller is perceived as a “front office spy”.…
