Contraband have been a huge issue for most correctional facilities across the United States and overseas. Contraband is typically defined as a criminal threat among the correctional staff, and other inmates. Contraband can be tobacco products, money, personal items, and unauthorized food. Most of these items are coming from close family members or friends.
