Correy Kitchen Case Study
Correy Kitchen was an inexperience planner, per himself this is his first planning job that did not know how to work as a team or respectfully and professionally seek information to help him conduct his task as a community planner. Couple of times when he first joined SW Valley team, I tried to guide him about the process and his response was that he will talk about this with Adam Villani. He has constantly shown me that he is not interested to have a healthy and positive teamwork. Series of other constant incidents proof that his style is working around people rather than directly seek help and training to complete his tasks. Unfortunately, I found it very hard to work with these style and always was hoping that this was going to be handled …show more content…
Unfortunately, couple of times both Correy Kitchens and Nelson Rodriguez mentioned that the idea of having this meeting and discuss work related issues is “dumb” and unnecessary. In appropriate comments from CPWWHWH team discourage us to conduct the working group meetings to collaborate, corroborate and discuss issues. From Michelle Montenegro, Erika Lamb, and my point of view these was a more appropriate way of transferring the methodology and process to each other rather that working around each …show more content…
Adam Villani was involved and explained that the process is proper and accurate. Background: from the incident on October 23 through December 8, Correy Kitchen would approach Manuel Elizarraras asking him what he was tasked to. Since Correy Kitchen and Nelson Rodriguez were unable to seek information through Alvao Parra, it seems that their only option was to question Manuel Elizarraras. I am sitting right next cubic to Manuel Elizarraras and could hear their conversations couple of time a week. Every time, Manuel Elizarraras very respectfully and clearly explained to Correy Kitchen what he has been tasked and if Correy Kitchens has any question, he could ask me instead. As I explained above, I respect people’s style and never complaint to my Supervisor, Adam Villani, that I was not comfortable. But it was disrespectful on Correy Kitchen and Nelson Rodriguez when on December 8 they have started criticizing and questioning my methodology to a Professional Student Worker. For the first time, I have shared my concerns to Adam Villani alone. I believe it was not professional from Correy Kitchen and Nelson Rodriguez to criticize and discuses my work with a Professional Student Worker. It would be more constructive, if they would share their concerns directly with me. Adam

I think that the director should have a meeting with both involved parties individually. He or she should ask the nature of the conversation held. The director should inform both parties that the conversation was overheard by someone in the cafeteria without saying who reported the conversation. The director should inform each individual of the HIPPA laws that were broken. Both individuals should be reprimanded. Both discussed private information and gave detailed information including specifics such as names. Both should be suspended without pay and both should take a class on HIPPA law, or depending on the severity…

The place that I decided to volunteer at was the St. Thomas Church Pantry. The purpose of this service is to get food to people who have fallen upon tough financial times. One business skill that this group needs to keep the food pantry running is marketing skills. One of the struggles that food pantries have is not getting enough food donations of items they need. So, the leader of the pantry must ask for donations of the items that they run low on. This also means that the volunteers at the Pantry must take inventory on food items to ensure that they will not run out of certain food items. Also, they have to have a volunteer schedule just like most businesses this is to ensure that at least two volunteers will be working during the two days of the week that the Pantry is…

In the United States, slavery was permitted for hundreds of years allowing for the slaves and indentured servants to be treated unjustly. The country that was so proud of their freedom was in fact not free for all; those of color or ethnicity were discriminated against. Men, women and even children were treated as property instead of human beings solely because of their heritage. Although slavery in the United States no longer exists there are still effects of this horrific time in today’s society. The Kitchen House is an accurate portrayal of indentured servitude and the brutality inhumane slave conditions pre-civil war. Kathleen Grissom clearly…

They gave me a couple of examples which was documented and they stated they had not spoken to them as they were not sure how to. I asked if they would like me to speak to the person in question to establish their version of events and to make them aware of how they are making a fellow team member feel. They agreed to me doing this and I assured them I would do this in confidence and not mention their name. Following this I explained I would not be able to discuss the contents of the conversation but I would let them know when the conversation had taken place so they could monitor the situation form there.…

After examining the situation, I understand that my discomfort comes from the conflict between the behavior of the agency workers and the code of ethics the NASW has provided. The code of ethics is big on human dignity and respect as well as confidentiality and self-determination I feel that in this situation all three were compromised. By speaking out against someone while they're not around to defend their selves you do not give them self-determination or respect and dignity. By speaking of clients and the client’s problems without their presence makes me think that their confidentiality is being violated. However, I do not have information saying whether the clients have given permission for them to speak to each other…

Perform a SWOT Analysis for the restaurant and explain how County Kitchen could be competitive with the deployment of mobile commerce? SWOT analysis is grounded in the basic principle that strategy-making efforts must aim at producing a good fit between a company’s resource capability (as reflected by its balance of resource strengths and weakness) and its external situation (as reflected by industry and competitive conditions, the company’s own market opportunities, and specific external threats to the company’s profitability and market standing)1. SWOT is the acronym for Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threat and as defined above by Johnson et al (2008), it is a tool through which managers create a quick overview of the firm’s strategic position in its competitive environment. To do this accurately, the company’s vision, mission and objectives must be identified clearly to serve as a guide (in this case we assume). Company Vision: A vision statement describes what the company is to become in the longterm future (Thompson (2001), p77). County Kitchen’s Vision statement is “To be the world’s favourite restaurant” Mission Statement: To become the best provider of…

The group met once a week, for approximately 2 hours, to discuss and review the progress made. These sessions were beneficial as we were able to check work on a regular basis and support each other if there were any issues. On one occasion, we realised that team member C and I had similar information, however we were able to amend it quickly to avoid repetition. Communication barriers were also reduced as group members kept contact via email and telephone, demonstrating that Tuckman’s (1965) stage of storming in his team-development model was reduced.…
