Corruption In Nepal: causes and Solutions
Is it possible to avoid corruption from society? Corruption is the miss use of public power usually for personal advantages by elected politicians or appointed civil servants. It is not surprise that Nepal is very corrupt country. When many new political leaders come into power and declare that their determination to avoid corruption from the country, but soon they themselves become corrupt. In Nepal corruption is very serious problem affecting whole sphere of government system. It is not unique phenomenon in Nepal as well as all over the world, including developing and well-developed countries. Corruption is almost impossible to avoid from the society, but one can reduce it. The best solution to reduce corruption is empowering civil society at local and national level against the corruption. The main causes of corruptions are a public. Corruption is not only starts by government employee, but also creates by common people. Publics are using government people for doing corruption. Corruption starts when a person tries to solve his/her problem fast by interfering a line or queue with help of a known person. When a public goes to a government office, he gives his file to officers and asked how long does it will take. The officer said there are ten files before his file. At the moment the public replied, please take some money and complete my work first. The officer thought, I am getting extra money for doing my job, why to loose it and agreed to work earlier than others people’s work. Finally, the officer took some money from a person and completed his work first. Later, the officer started to ask money with people if they want to complete their work earlier than others people. The files of those people who are not willing to pay money are pending forever. It is the simple example of corruption. Today, all sectors of society have been adversely affected by
