Corse Luka's Narrative
Of Corse Luka was pretty freaked out about this, but to Miku it was the beginning of a new life! That night Miku tried to explain to Luka how much she loved America. All was well until she brought up moving! Luka screeched, and told her, “If you have any ideas of leaving young lady, I will never let you leave the house again!” Well Miku was not afraid of her mother, because she was willing to give up her life with her mother, for freedom!

The fear of his wrath was what had always kept me in line, but not this time; this time, I was willfully disobedient.…

Our ADC went AFK due to him getting repeatedly ganked by Lee Sin, the enemy jungler. To most people, this sentence is utter nonsense; a couple of random words and phrases mashed into a collage that is confusing and bewildering. But to me and a few other people, it is a language. A language that I have been constantly speaking, writing, listening to, and learning for the short end of five years. A language I have a deep passion for. The language of League of Legends.…

The color of my skin, texture of my curls, and sound of my accent does not solely define who I am. I define myself as Mariela De Loa, a Catholic, Mexican-American young woman. My adolescence consisted of me growing up in a middle class household with my mother, father, and three siblings. From a young age my parents embeded religious morals into my norms and values. I was taught to put God above all and treat those around me with respect. My parents also enforced the Spanish language while I was growing up. By the time I entered kindergarten, Spanish was my dominant language, so I couldn’t speak English as well. It was difficult for me to get along with other kids because none of them looked like me or spoke the same language as me. Essentially,…

Does love always lead to happiness? At first one may simply disregard that question because most would immediately think “yes, love always leads to happiness. What a silly question.” I love my dog, and she makes me happy. My parents love each other and they are happy. These statements may be true, but think about the question a little deeper. What happens when your dog passes away? Is that going to be a happy time? I would think not. It also would not be a happy time being stuck in a marriage filled with spiritual repression, Chopin reveals in her writing of “The story of an Hour”. In this short story Kate Chopin brings the reader to ask him or herself many thought provoking questions such as “Does love always lead to happiness?” through her use of the elements of fiction. Love does not always lead to happiness.…

Women’s struggle for equality is about as common in society as the belief in their inferiority; it is no stretch of the imagination to figure why. The novels Fiela’s Child and So Long a Letter chronicle a woman’s fight for freedom and in so doing maneuver to criticize the patriarchal societies that elicit this struggle. This indictment is communicated by no shortage of means. One method applies the protagonist/antagonist dynamic; it is the scope of this essay to compare the author’s similar techniques of employing this relationship.…

Let’s face it, ghosts, vampires and other typical monsters are a little overdone at this point, especially in the hidden object game genre. That’s why it is refreshing to see titles like Eventide: Slavic Fable that deviates from the usual cast of creatures. As the name suggests, it is a game that is inspired by Slavic mythology, which appears to be filled with all manner of weird and wonderful beings. The setting is a contemporary heritage park where the protagonist’s grandmother is the curator. Grandma invariably ends up kidnapped and you need to save her with the help of the mythical creatures dwelling in the park.…
