I have always had a fascination with science from a young age. Once I reached high school and I had the chance to explore different facets of the subject, I quickly became infatuated with chemistry. What I enjoyed most was the labs, that simply allowed me to learn about chemical reactions and changes while creating something new, using an array of elements and compounds.
The following year, as I began attending cosmetology school, my passion for chemistry fell to the wayside for a while. Later in the school year, I attended Wella cosmetology education class that once again peaked my interest in the physical science. During the class, met with a cosmetologist that worked alongside a chemist to formulate and produce Wella’s new product line. I then realized that I could combine my love of both the cosmetology industry and chemistry by becoming a cosmetic chemist. The more I began to research the position, the more intrigued I became.
The summer before my senior year, my enthusiasm led me to experiment, by …show more content…
Cosmetic science combines fields such as chemistry, biochemistry, and pharmaceutical chemistry in a focus on product formulation, manufacturing, and marketing. I desire to work and focus my studies in product development and formulation. By attending graduate school, I will hopefully have the opportunity to secure an internship with either a hair, makeup, or nail product company, that will hopefully lead to a career. In addition to working for a major cosmetic company a personal goal of mine is to branch out and eventually develop my own line of cruelty free hair care products, to be sold in professional
