Cost Certainty In Construction
The contractor will be totally responsible for undertaking the design and construction of the project and this will be done at an agreed price. This single point of responsibility has other benefits including potential schedule savings if there are limited variations during the project. Cost certainty is a big advantage to the employer. The project can be completed on time.
However, in this method, the client may not get high quality construction and the facilities as per his expectation. Also, if the client requires variations from the original design during construction, it could become somewhat expensive and can potentially affect the scheduled completion date.
