Coty Richardson Case Study
A Christian university in Eugene is facing a lawsuit after it allegedly fired a professor who became pregnant out of wedlock.
Coty Richardson, 35, on Tuesday sued Northwest Christian University (NWCU) and is asking for US$650,000 in damages after the school kicked her out when they learned of her pregnancy in May. She said NWCU made her choose between marrying her boyfriend of 12 years or leave him to keep her job, according to an Associated Press report published by Daily Journal.
According to the lawsuit, NWCU informed Richardson that Dennis Lindsay, the school’s vice president of academic affairs and dean of faculty, terminated her in a July 30 letter. Lindsay reportedly said Richardson went against the school’s core values by engaging in

O’Neill has aided many students into getting the good education that they want. Students from Hartford are able to go to places like Glastonbury for their education because of this case. Although this case has been working, it still needs improvement. CtMirror.org states, “The desegregation of Hartford schools has been taking place for the last 20 years and there are changed to be celebrated and others that merit further inquiry.” One problem with this case has been the amount of time it has taken. 20 years to integrate schools is uncanny. The process has taken an extensive time and needs to speed up. Schools still, after 20 years are not fully…

On Wednesday UA's judicial review was completed, and Alabama’s associate vice president for university relations announced that the four students involved in the robberies on campus are no longer at the campus of The University of Alabama. “Based on all the information we've received and going through and trying to determine the future of the four guys that got in trouble, those guys are no longer associated with the football program," Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban said on Wednesday. "Their actions do not reflect the spirit and character that we want our organization to reflect. It's obviously very disappointing and unacceptable what happened.” Calloway admitted to using the stolen credit card for snacks from a vending machine. Saban would not characterize the dismissal of the players in absolute terms, saying only; they were no longer associated with the football program.…

Bernice, thank you for your post on the Quinlan case. I remembered hearing about the case when it was in the news but I did not follow the story. The Quinlan's legal case set precedent and established a patient's right to refuse medical care and control his or her own medical treatment. There were the development of advance directives, the creation of ethics committees in hospitals, nursing homes and hospices, and the invention of Health Care Proxies all because of Karen Ann Quinlan. Karen became the symbol of abuse of technology in this technological age. Thank you for your post.…

The allegations to be decided were whether the student’s misconduct violated the Bland ISD code of conduct, whether the ARD (Admissions, Review, and Dismissal) committee’s decision was involved when requiring the student to go to DAEP. The ARD process is a meeting between teachers, staff, and parents that help determine the IEP or Individualized Education Plan for the student. In the summary judgement is was determined that the IDEA does not dictate the code of conduct, that is regulated by individual school districts. The parents/guardians did not have enough proof that ARD, the IEP, or school district did not properly execute their policies regarding the code of conduct, and a further hearing was denied.…
