To begin with tourism has a lot of good sides, for instance it makes a great contributions to economy, because it can drasticaly change the amount of money in countries bank which means it can improve life standard and the amount of wages. The best example is our own country. We have astoneshing nature and extraordinary past so tourism is the especialy important for us and our future.Other thing is that through this activity we are spreading the word of our country world wide.Last but not least seeing other nations breath thanken by our country we become more proud of it and we learn in that way to appreciate it even more and treat it with respect. Like any other thing this also has negative effects, like endagering the enviroment with garbage made by disrespectful tourists.Furthermore with developing tourism there comes the selling of our history and legacy to strangers.People are selling national treasures like our beautiful islands even though they have no right to do it.Third argument against tourism is high prices in summer months when sellers want to earn much more money than usual.Due to this the locals have to adjust and spend more which they often do not have.

My personal opinion is that tourism is very profitable activity for any country and has more positive than negative sides.Every state should explore and completely use all of its potential so it can develop properly and enable better life for its citizens. However there should be limits for

The most distinctive positive effect of tourism is that it creates jobs. This enables the economy in that certain area to grow leading to a “multiplier effect”, which happens when people spend their income on services and products that are made available by the tourism industry. It also improves certain indirect sectors such as transportation services. Some small scale businesses that rely on tourists are easy to implement and doesn’t require a proper education. This is greatly beneficial in Africa because there is a lack of proper education in most countries, especially in rural areas. Tourism also generates extra tax revenues that can benefit the economy by using those taxes to improve infrastructure and other important areas that need improvement. The upside of tourism is that it is mainly seasonal, for instance…

Some people said yes with this question and gave some examples to protect their opinion. First of all, Tourism was known as non-smoke industry, it holds about 10% of GDP, 11% of export turnover and 9.6% of investment all over the world. According to the reports of World Tourism Organization, tourism is one of the main foreign exchange incomes in many countries; it ranks fourth after fuels, chemicals and automotive products. In Thailand, tourism revenue reached US$ 33.5 billion in 2009. Yearly tourism revenue in Italy reaches about US$ 62 billion. China – the most populous country had the impressive tourism revenue which reached US$ 180 billion in 2009. Japan also earns US$ 10.8 billion from tourism per year. Not only in Vietnam – a developing country, tourism revenue holds 55% of the total foreign exchange incomes, but also in America – a developed country, tourism also brings this country US$ 110 billion per year. The other remarkable thing is that the tourism plays an important role in the development of the underdeveloped and developing country. This was proved in the report quote of the president of World Tourism Organization in 2006: “the amount of money, which the tourists bring for the underdeveloped areas on the world, is slightly more than the humanitarian aids from the Non-governmental organizations”. Besides, when a country has the large number of foreign tourists, not only the image of the country, people, but also economic potentiality in this country will be known clearly in the other countries. There was some businessmen who combined travelling and looking for new business opportunities. It is a good and easy way to find out about lifestyle, hobbies and needs’ inhabitants and social and economic…

Not only do they use up their natural resources to support the growing tourism industry, but they also deprive local population of what is righifully theirs. It is sad to see how developing countries try to stay afloat in this competitive world, how they are pressured to do everything and anything so that they could be economically one step up from where they were before. Yet, all they do is take and take without putting much back in. It doesn't work that way, in fact, everything and everybody in some way depend on one another. This brings us to the point that even tough economic well being and development of the country depends on this multi-million industry, tourism has its downside.
