Company Description

William Divito founded The Aurora Golf Club, in response to his peers for having a passion of golf.

William had a love for the game of golf like no one else. He spent days putting in short grass areas and on fair ways on high school property. William suddenly realized that a golf course was necessary in the area. He and two other men sat down and configured a golf course that was challenging enough for all who love the sport and high class enough for the richest of the town.

For over 80 years, The Aurora Golf Club property has been the signature mark of tradition with first-rate amenities that include our championship 18-hole golf course. As we enter a new era for the golf industry, we are removing the "members only" status of the club and will now offer access to the general public. For the first time in the course's history, our neighbors in Northeast Ohio will be able to enjoy The Aurora Golf Club for daily play, golf outings, weddings and corporate events and benefit from the "private" club experience. I made my way across the parking lot, towards the entrance to the gym. As I reached the double doors I paused, then slowly turning, I attempted to take in as much of the outside view as I could. I saw a green meadow dotted with a few thoughtfully placed picnic tables, a few baseball, and soccer fields. I also noticed that this place is home to a busy skateboard park right beside a well-kept playground. My pan of the scene had revealed to me that this place has grown into something more than what I had remembered it to be. Today this center welcomes people of all ages. In contrast, when the U.S. Air Force ran this facility it was for military personnel and their adult dependents. It was a simple gymnasium with a couple of minimally groomed baseball diamonds and multipurpose fields, lacking any beauty. Today, the sturdy old building and surrounding fields are a beautiful sight to behold, and maintained by a local community services organization. The quick survey of the sports center had reminded me that this place is still serving the community in a big way with its available venues and activities.…

The Keeping to the Fairway case study is a complex situation that needs to be handled in the correct manner. At issue, is whether or not a company named Pace Sterling should proceed with their sponsorship of a Champions Tour golf tournament. The Range Rover Evoque is a luxury compact SUV and was released in 2011. The car is a smaller and lighter alternative to the other products in the Land Rover product portfolio which is more fuel efficient (JaguarLandRover, 2011). Land Rover’s market share currently sits under 20% however with the release of the Evoque it is expected to increase (Telegraph, 2011). With the proposed marketing plan, the price of the car is very flexible, ranging from £25 000 to £45 000, attracting a wide variety of customers from different market segments and gaining advantage over competitors at different ends of the SUV market such as Volkswagen, Mercedes and Audi. Customers can change their product in its appearance and performance to fit their needs. The car will be heavily promoted through collaboration with the music industry on television shows such as ‘The X Factor’ in order to gain high profile attention and a premium status by being awarded to the winning contestant of the competition. This also gives the product an opportunity to appeal to customers in diverse sectors of the market watching the show. Men’s style and car magazines will also be targeted in order to gain a good relationship with potential consumers and improve Range Rover’s brand image. The car’s improved fuel efficiency will attract consumers who are conscious about environmental sustainability and improve Range Rover’s brand image. Improved fuel efficiency also satisfies customers as they feel they are getting better value. Traditionally the buyers of Land Rover and Range Rover cars have been men (eHow.com, 2011), however the Range Rover Evoque’s unique size and shape means it appeals to more women. Expanding their market to women gives Land Rover bigger potential to grow. The following marketing plan will therefore not only expand Land Rover’s customer base, it will increase the market share of Land Rover and assist them in becoming the leading manufacturer of SUVs…
