Guatemala, a country south of Mexico located in Central America bordered by the Pacific Ocean. Guatemala’s border is composed of to the north and west by Mexico, to the northeast by Belize, to the east by Honduras, to the southeast by El Salvador and to the south by the Pacific Ocean. The name Guatemala is Indian but where it was actually derived from is unknown. It is also the home to numerous volcanoes, rainforests, and ancient Mayan sites.
In 2018, Guatemala has an estimated population of 17.25 million ranking them 66th in the world. The population in 2017 was 16.9 million and in 2016 it was 16.2 million. Guatemala alone has the largest population of Central America. This is an estimated population density of 134 people per square kilometer. The largest city in Guatemala, Guatemala city has a population of greater than 2.74 million.

Guatemala is an extremely multicultural country with the direct reflection in the culture of indigenous and Spanish influences.
