Conflicts overseas slowly, but always end up influencing the nation and society, regardless of the location of the conflict. Since August 4, 1914, when England declared war on Germany, the start of World War I, many English believe their nation has been in conflict for over 100 years (theguardian.uk, 2014). Due to England having been in a series of conflicts for over 100 years it has greatly affected the nation in both negative and positive ways. Overseas conflicts have a significant impact on communities in England for centuries. Recently in these conflicts, new communication technologies have allowed a more rapid, wider diffusion of information across the nation, for example, websites, blogs and social media (Collyer, M., 2011). While England is still and in history, involved in conflicts overseas many refugees from involving nations move into the country to find freedom, as well as, a chance to start again, they come with the own culture which is greatly assimilating into and enriching the English
