Courage and Hero

The Different Personalities of a Hero Everyone has their own meaning when the word “hero” comes out. A hero is someone who is recognized as smart with admirable traits or qualities. He can be your favorite actor in the movie or even a musician. Others describe it as strong and have courageous personality. A hero is a person who is able to help another in various ways. A person can become a hero by doing a sacrificial act when someone is in danger. It can be a doctor who saves life, a firefighter who is risking his life to get everyone out in a burning house or even a soldier who maintains peace and order in country. To others it can be a father or mother who provides everything that his/her children needs. Each meaning has its own level of understanding depending upon the one who thinks of it. A hero is much more than the usual clichés. Courage is one of the important factors that hero needs. It helps us to face our fears in life. Everyone face difficulties in life such as loosing his/her loved ones, something important that was stolen from you and even money, for instance. What sets courageous people apart from cowards is “fortitude”. It is a virtue that allows us to overcome fear and remains steady in our will especially when facing obstacles in life. It is also one of the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit. It plays a crucial role in life. Not everyone has this kind of personality. A hero is brave in extreme situations and acts right away because he knows it has to be done. A good example of this would be Ninoy Aquino. Even though he knows that his life will be in danger, he still fought for what he know is right. A hero is a person who is unselfish. Unselfish person is willing to put the needs of others before him. A soldier would be a good example for this. They volunteer their own life for the freedom of their loved ones and strangers they have never even met. They are willing to sacrifice their life for the sake of their country.
