Student Course Reflection
With the way things are in the world now it is very hard to find a good paying job that offers benefits and other incentives without having a degree of some sort. The majority of jobs that I see advertised in newspapers or online require at the very least an associates degree or a bachelors degree. If you have a degree it opens up a wide range of opportunities that might not be available to you if you didn’t. With a degree you are more likely to have a higher annual income, benefits (health, dental, vision, 401k, life insurance), and more likely to receive a promotion.
When you have a degree from a college it gives you a feeling of accomplishment and can help you in knowing that you have finished a goal that you have made for yourself. It is a very nice feeling knowing that all the hard work and dedication you have put into your education has finally paid off. My academic goal it to acquire an associates degree in Criminal Justice so I can start a career as a paralegal. I can’t pursue my career of choice unless I have a minimum of two years of college schooling and getting my degree will help me to do this. I’ve only just begun with my efforts in attaining this goal, but it is one that I feel will better my future. I’ve been interested in paralegal work for a while now and there’s no time like now to pursue my goals and start accomplishing what I want to in life.
Over the last nine weeks in this class I have learned how much dedication and time I must commit myself to so that I can complete my degree. This class hasn’t always been easy but it has shown me what I should expect for the future in my academic goals. I have also learned how important critical thinking is. I know I may sound like a broken record concerning critical thinking but I feel very strongly about using this skill in everyday life. Learning this skill in this class really has helped prepare me for my future online
