SBS 100 Reflection Paper

During the course of SBS 100 CareerStart I have accomplished a variety of goals I once thought were unattainable. I have not only grown as a student but as a person as well. I feel that through my experience in this course, I have gained the knowledge and confidence it takes to step out into the real world. I am a financing major and the classes that I took was CI Revising
Reality, English Reading/Writing 1, Empires and Globalization II and SBS 100 CareerStart.
These course let me become further aware about how the business world works, what are the laws we should be conscious, why keeping communication is involved so much in order to deal in professional world and as well as global economy. There are so many valuable information that I became to know which drove to become more challengeable. The learning experience from my classes has strengthened my inner ability and I can positively admit that I am almost ready to prepare my future career as a student and as a professional.

To discuss about the semester and about my academic and career goals, one of my class that impacted me the most was SBS 100 CareerStart, where I was taught to reflect on my goals as a

academic and to explore my career path. I tried to find my personalities including strength points and weak points, and I learned how to explain myself professionally. Goal setting suggested me to work for and how to achieve the goals. They made my goals more reasonable and made them easy to achieve. I was able to organize my ideas about my professional future goals. Similarly I was able to evaluate and compare my experience, my knowledge against my educational plans in order for me to get a new idea of my goals and ambitions.

In my opinion, the most valuable experience for me was the Mission Possible Groups assignment. This assignment provided me the opportunity to evaluate my strengths I discovered on Strength Quest and thus contribute to the group project. I believe that this is a extremely effective assignment because it allows you discover your personal strengths and tap into your true potential as a academic. I normally do not work well in group projects, however, this project allowed me to surpass those obstacles. I learned to work with other students and learned to share my ideas more freely. It was a extremely valuable experience for me because taught me the importance of teamwork and communications.

SBS 100 CareerStart is one of the most influential courses I have ever took. It is a course that teaches you about the real world and how it works. This course allowed me to reflect not only my academic path but my path as a human being. In my future, I hope to carry all of the skills I have acquired during my SBS 100 CareerStart course. I think that they will be very helpful to me, regardless of my goals in life.
