Course Description:
This course focuses on the theory and application of business regulations and the laws of contracts, agency, property and business organizations.
Hybrid Statement:
This course will combine the face-to-face classroom experience with the convenience of online learning. A hybrid course structure allows us all to connect in person while keeping the flexibility of an online course for the second half of the week. You will be expected to attend and participate in both the classroom portion of the course and via Blackboard every week. We will be connecting much of what we do in the classroom to online discussions, assignments, and assessments throughout the rest of the week on Blackboard.
Course Objectives:
To acquire an understanding of general legal principles and specific business law issues, to engage in analysis of the law, and to explore how the law impacts business and personal decisions.

Assignment Descriptions:
The following is expected of each student: class reading assignments, a Final exam, individual paper, group class projects, Research paper, class participation and short topical assignments.
Students are responsible for reading the assigned material prior to each class. Students are expected to attend all classes. Absenteeism will affect the final grade, barring extenuating circumstances. All students are expected to participate in the class discussions.
Course Grading Policies:
All papers should be submitted through the appropriate Assignment in Blackboard by the stated due date using Microsoft Word or similar word processing format. The length of the paper is defined by instructor and should follow APA formatting guidelines

Attendance / Participation Policy:
Failure to participate during the first week of the course (12:00 AM Monday through 11:59 PM
Sunday) will result in automatic withdrawal. Participation is defined as posting activity within a discussion board, wiki, or blog, and/or an assignment submission. Students who do not participate during the first week forfeit their rights to be reinstated into the course.
Students are expected to attend face-to-face (F2F) class meeting times as well as participate online for Hybrid courses throughout the term. Students enrolled in F2F (lecture) courses should also login to their blackboard course site to check for announcements, assignment information, and links to additional resources.
