For example; we received a courtesy letter last year regarding Halloween decorations, as of a result we were forced to take ours down, although if you walk throughout the community other people do have theirs up (this year just like last year), and yet they don’t seem to be receiving any such sort of a
notice. In addition, we paid a recent fine for our dog being walked with a leash, but in fact we were not, and to add fuel to the fire we weren’t even able to fight the letter. The fact in that situation was we weren’t even aware the dog was outside, because we had no idea that the door was left open, that was until the foul mouthed Derek came banging on the door. Then the dog was taken in, and whatever mess he was accused doing, cleaned up. Furthermore with that in mind, you can come and take look for yourself throughout the neighborhood, and I’m sure you’ll see a person walking a black dog on a leash, but the miniature white dog is not on one, yet this continues, and we are the ones that got a letter. Even though many of the letters we have received have been courtesy letters, it still feels that we are the only ones being punished. We are far from perfect, and some make mistakes, but are not the only ones that should be called out. In regards to the recent courtesy letter we acquired, we did have a discussion with our son about the bike riding in the pool area, although he wasn’t the only one, and he doesn’t own a bike personally, we again felt that were the only ones that got this letter. That being said, it seems as if we have to document everything, take photographs of other apparent violations of the rules that are not being enforced. It should be that the rules apply to all, but it looks like in our eyes that it’s being done unfairly, and that is wrong. In conclusion, we just want to say that as much as we love living in the vibrant community, the actions and documentation of violation/ pending violations should just be applied to a selected few, but to everyone fairly and equally. I can only imagine that the owner might see the amounts of letters sent which seem to portray us as bad tenants, which we are not. Thus, this letter was composed to not only express our concerns, but to also outline other things we see as unfair and unjust.
Sincerely,
Romeo V. Mendez
