Courtesy Makes One Beautiful
COURTESY MAKES ONE BEAUTIFUL As you know, courtesy plays an important role in our daily life. Unfortunately, they are just mere words. People nowadays don’t really care about it especially teenagers. Teenagers think they will not look ‘macho’ and cool when they display courteous behaviour. So I am standing here today to erase all those facts from your mind and basically give you the other picture about the benefits you’ll get by practicing courtesy in your daily life.

Before I proceed to my next point, let me explain the meaning of courtesy. According to the Oxford dictionary, courtesy means polite behaviour and shows respect for other people. You don’t need to show your respect by giving gifts or telling them right when they are not. Respect through words is enough. There is courtesy between young and old, courtesy among friends, courtesy between males and females, courtesy with respect to different religion, courtesy at an international level and many more.

There are a myriad of benefits that you’ll gain by displaying good behaviour. First and foremost, courtesy begets courtesy, it means that if you are polite to others, the others will do the same thing to you. This is because what goes around comes around. Saying thank you to a good deed will brighten up your day.

Other than that, you will eventually gain more and more friends. Touching the above point, friendship is an added benefit of being courteous to others. Everyone will count on you! Nobody wants to be friends with a rude person. Neither you nor me. If you are facing problems, others will lend you a helping hand. They will be with you through thick and thin. Thus, if you feel like you are lacking politeness, don’t get angry if your friend backfires on you.

Besides that, others will want to see you succeed. Increasing your friendships and acquiantences will mean increasing the number of people in support of you. As often said by others, connections can make the difference

“It is not always the same thing to be a good man and a good citizen” (Aristotle, Nicomachean Ethics). Although civil disobedience may cause divisive rhetoric and chaos, nonviolent resistance positively impacts a free society by providing an impetus for progress and starting a dialogue about injustice. Our nation was founded on principles of civil disobedience. In Federalist #51, James Madison proclaimed, “If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary.” Instead, it is up to humankind to ensure that our government protects the rights of all people.…

According to the article "Is There Anything Wrong With This Picture" by Lauren Tashis and Kristian Lewis is seems to be that because of phones and other technology, people are more rude than they were in the past. After reading over this article and looking at all the evidence I determined that having good manners benefits everyone. First of all, people with good manner tend to be more successful. For instance, in this article the author states that "Studies show that teens with good manners are more likely to be successful: they get better grades, and are more impressive in job interviews. This shows that having good manners can help you get good grades and even secure you a job. Another great piece of evidence to support my claim is that…
