Dear hiring manager,
I am a student at Keuka College and I am looking for an internship in summer of 2013. As an enthusiastic and hard-working student, I am writing to apply for the summer marketing and business development intern position at your company posted on internships.com.
Two years ago, I worked as a salesperson in a clothing store where I was trained in customer service, marketing and other business skills. I communicated with customers, then tried to make them satisfied every day, and contacted the supplier when the clothes had mistakes. In some special events or at the beginning of new seasons, other salespersons and I created a few marketing strategies like distributing flyers or discount pricing strategy to develop the business and increase customer’s awareness about our brand. Besides, this job also gave me cash-handling and team-working skills. As a group, we worked together to check clothes, then arranged them whenever receiving a new collection from suppliers. At the end of each day, we often adjusted the inventory and checked money.
In addition, I had an one-month part-time job as a receptionist in a Spa before I came to the US for study. During the time, my customer service and sales skills were further improved. I often contacted hotels that were our partnerships when they had tourists, or received customers’ order on the phone. Every day, I suggested packages of service which must be suitable with customers’ health and make them satisfied and comfortable.
I believe my marketing and business skills will support your company and this will be a chance for me to gain more knowledge and valuable experience.
