Dear Sir/Madam

I’m applying for the advertised position for a waiting staff. I feel well suited for the job having acquired more than a year of experience as a waiter within the hospitality and restaurant sector.

I have worked as a waiter at North Cafe and Restaurant in Kathmandu, Nepal where I direct staff of Waiters and Waitresses within a fast moving and high pressure environment, delivering high level hospitality and customer services, ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction at all times.

This position has given me a sense of achievement and I gained rapid promotion three months after being recruited as Waiter. My new position as Head Waiter required that I adopt a supervisory role and it was necessary to juggle many different tasks at once. I was responsible for managing the restaurant and bar, ensuring orders were fulfilled, keeping track of inventories and arranging delivery of supplies. All this involve giving instructions to members of staff and monitoring them; but I also used to make the time to listen and this improved communication within my team. By communicating effectively, I helped raise team morale and this helped me and the other waitresses/waiters. Through good organisation and communication, I ensured efficient functioning of the restaurant and bar, ensuring simultaneous requests and orders by customers were met within reasonable time.

I am reliable, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. My one year experience as Head Waiter at the North Cafe and Restaurant has given me the opportunity to hone excellent organizational and supervisory skills, ability to delegate tasks proactively and manage competing deadlines. I believe my skills and experience make me a suitable candidate for the related position. Meanwhile, I look forward to hearing from you

Through the years, I have had many experiences that make me the ideal candidate for the Customer Service Manager position. The one experience that stands out in my mind is the time I had to help with an extremely dissatisfied customer. I was working in a retail setting as a cashier in the customer service department. I remember this customer like it was yesterday. The customer came to me, it was apparent she was angry with an issue that the cashier could not remedy. My main focus was to calm the customer down; I did this by listening to the concerns of the customer. The customers issue was that she lost her receipt for an item and it was the wrong size. When she explained the situation of not having her receipt to the cashier, there was no help. By knowing the stores policy and procedures, I was able to help the customer, make her happy and got a customer for life. Knowing that I was excellent customer service skills, it only inspires me to use my abilities to the fullest. Thank you for considering me for the Customer Service Manager position.…

Wait staff almost have a script for how to handle customers. Being a waitress is a positive role in my life. While working in a restaurant each employee has their own title, and they all have their own responsibilities. At the entrance of the restaurant is the hostess, who is the customer service representative. Further inside are the servers, who are the marketers of the restaurant. In the far back of the restaurant on one side are the cooks and pizza makers, or food artists and perfectionists. In the far back towards the exit are the delivery drivers, who are considered the restaurants food chauffeurs. Also in the back are the dishwashers, who are comparable to the janitors in a business. All these workers have very different roles, but all must work together to make the restaurant a success.…
