Dear Mr. Krost,
I was informed about the accounting internship opening at Phunware, Inc. by Marissa Finkelman and I am very interested. Marissa and I have been close friends for over three years and I was excited to hear about this opportunity that she shared with me. I am currently a sophomore in the McCombs School of Business with a major in accounting and a minor in finance. In addition, I plan to pursue the Integrated MPA program to earn my BBA and MPA in 5 years. I have a strong desire to pursue a career in accounting, and my previous experience and leadership roles have prepared me well for this position.
Last spring, I worked as a tax intern at the Municipal Council of Texas while learning about financial analysis from the professionals around me. I enjoyed being in a professional setting and learning more about the careers of financial analysts and tax accountants. In addition, I am the Vice President of Finance of a sorority made up of 250 members, Alpha Epsilon Phi. I utilize excel to track membership dues, external contributions, house payments, and the sorority’s expenditures. I also present a financial update and corresponding statements to our executive board on a monthly basis while meeting weekly with a CPA. I am also involved in McCombs as a member of the McCombs Leadership Program and a Founder and Outreach Director of the McCombs Jewish Business Students Association. This involvement has allowed me to engage my leadership skills around other business students and utilize teamwork on a daily basis.
I am a very driven individual with a passion for creating success in my future. Responsibility is one of my key attributes and I exercise this through abundant organization and planning. I am excited about my potential as an accountant and believe that my background makes me a great candidate for this Accounting Internship at Phunware, Inc. I have enclosed my resume with more information for your review and
