Looking at my time login for Day 1 was similar to an assignment I did in my CPD 150 class. My reaction to my use of mediated communication is how any normal teenager would reaction, shocked. I did not think I spent the major of my time on my phone either reading, listening to music or watching YouTube videos. The one time log that surprised me the most was watching YouTube for about 7 hours. I did take bathroom breaks and my parents called me but for the major of the time I was glued to my phone. I also noticed the time I spent reading. I like reading books and I rarely read due to my picky selection process. I usually text and/or call my family or church leaders. On Day 2, I went “off the grid” with the exception of a phone call or two. In the beginning I felt there would be nothing to and I would be bored out my mind. To my surprised I was kept rather busy through the day.…

A student goes to his school and gets a blank permit. He fills out his portion of the permit. The employer fills out her portion of the permit with information like: the name, address and telephone # of the co., specific job duties, the job title, estimated number of hours and days per week. The student then takes the permit back to his school and the school validates the permit and maintains a copy of it on file at the school. Typically a student can only have one job at a time and by keeping a copy of the student's work permit on file at the school it makes it impossible for the student to request another permit if he already has one on file.…

Data analysis revealed that our students performed better on the MAP assessment in comparison to the PARCC assessment, especially in Mathematics. Students who took the Algebra I MAP assessment had a higher pass rate than those who took the PARCC assessment. However, students performed about the same on the English II examination. This is in part due to the uncertainty and nuance of Common Core and the PARCC assessment. Also, there were inadequate resources and insufficient professional development for teachers. During the 2015-2016 school year, the Student Assessment Coordinator alongside school leaders began effectively managing student data to drives school improvement and student achievement efforts. Teachers also had a better understanding…

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development and is a means of supporting people in the workplace to understand more about the environment in which they work, the job they do and how to do it better. As an initiative, CPD was largely unknown until at least the 1960s. Professional bodies only started to take systematic steps to ensure their members continue their development on an ongoing basis within the last ten to fifteen years of the twentieth century. Recognition of the need for CPD is now well-established at least among the majority of professional bodies. CPD is an ongoing process throughout our working lives. The concept of CPD both generically and within HR is very important as it can be part of an individual’s personal ambition to be a better practitioner, enhance his/her career prospects or to simply feel more confident about their work and make it more personally fulfilling. The CIPD HR Profession Map is a very useful tool giving a wide-ranging vision of how HR can add value to any organisation it operates within. It covers the types of skills, behaviours and knowledge that HR people require in order to become a successful HR professional. It is useful in identifying areas that may need to be developed. What the HR Profession Map Covers: Professional areas (2 core and 1 other): Strategy, insights and solutions: Fosters legitimate insights and solutions, which aid understanding in the business and how it works (or should work), and allows well-defined strategies to be developed in order to improve things. Leading and managing the human resources function: Provides active, insight-led leadership: owning, shaping and driving themselves, others and activity in the organisation. Although not everyone will have a role where they lead others, it is still important that they develop and grow in the other two dimensions. Employee Relations: This area safeguards that the organisation’s relationship with its staff (and vice…
