Sandra Bullock’s character in the Movie Crash was Jean Cabot. Jean was portrayed as the district attorney’s wife. She became fearful of people of color when she was robbed by the two black gentlemen Anthony and Peter after they left the Asian restaurant feeling like they were discriminated against based on their race. When Anthony an Peter decided to rob the Cabot’s they did it because Jean decide to grab on to Ricks’ arm at the sight of Anthony and Peter. When Anthony and Peter robbed the Cabot’s’ they took their house keys as well causing them to have to get the keys replaced by the locksmith. Since Jean now has that fear that all men of color are going to rob her she then thinks and states it very loudly that the locksmith is going to take a set of her keys and give it to his friends so that they can be robbed again. Her husband Rick is running for re-election as the district attorney. Rick feels as though he could use the carjacking to his electoral advantage as a way to help him get re-elected. Jean had become a very angry person after she got robbed, she was overtly mad at the maid for not taking the dishes out of the dishwasher and Jean had a big fit about it. Jean later talks to her friend on the phone about why she has been so angry lately and she doesn’t understand why. Jean falls down the stairs after she gets off the phone with her friend and just lies at the bottom of the stairs whimpering. Jean later talks to Rick on the phone and she tells him about her accident and that everyone she called was unavailable to help her, the only person that came to her rescue was Maria her maid. As Maria brings Jean a cup of tea Jean hugs Maria and tells Maria that she is her best friend.…

The movie Crash, written and directed by Paul Haggins, shows many forms of diversity, stereotyping and racism. Each race is represented throughout the movie and blatantly displays racial discrimination and ethnocentrism.…
I believe that Anthony is a character that showed both his public and private self throughout the film. He was very opinionated about not liking white people and he did not care about what people thought of it. Anthony was very proud to be an African American and it showed throughout the movie. You also got to see a softer side of him towards the end when he discovered the van full of foreign women and children. Instead of selling them like they were brought over to the country for, he decided to let them go free. This showed a very caring and sensitive side of Anthony that we didn’t get to see in the beginning of the movie.…
The movie tells stories about racism between whites, blacks, Latinos, Koreans, Iranians, cops and criminals. The different levels of the rich and the poor, the powerful and powerless are also shown in the movie. The lives of the characters crash against each other. The most people feel prejudice and resentment against people of other groups.…
Movies are a powerful outlet to depict certain racial observations. Theaters insulate moviegoers in a cocoon-like setting with little distractions. This setting is an ideal situation to sway an audience. Movies can desensitize people to issues and shift public attitudes through influence. While there are many real scenarios portrayed in fictional film, to say that movies similar to Crash are completely accurate portrayals of reality is an oversight. The movie Crash, directed by Paul Haggis, is an attempt to accurately portray the various racial, ethnic, and racial stereotypes within the cast of characters…

Crash carts are very important in the medical field. They provide many advantages and little to no disadvantages when it comes to providing for the medical staff. Not only do they provide the necessary tools needed to take care of several different circulatory and respiratory complications but also have the necessary medications neatly organized for easy access. After concluding my research I found out a lot of interesting facts about not only the items that area inside the cart but about the very function, purpose, and use of those same items. In this paper you will read about the functions and tools used in these carts that are used in many hospitals around the world.…
“Please fasten your seat belt sir.” The voice of the flight steward woke me back from my reverie. After what seemed like thousands of years, finally I was taking a long break from my official and marital stress. I just couldn’t stop day dreaming about how perfect my vacation in Hawaii would be! As my flight took off, the excitement grew even further to feel the warm, sandy beaches sparkling in the sun, the sweet smelling pine trees and the luscious aroma of Pena Coladas, which would be welcoming me in a short while. I was so glad to leave back my chaotic life, which had made a person as carefree as me stress out at the drop of a hat, that all the fuss and the children whining around me just didn’t seem to matter at all.…
Everyone makes mistakes. No matter who you are, I would venture to say that there’s been at least one time in your life when you’ve done something and wished you would have approached it differently. It’s just a fact of life that things don’t always work out the way that they are intended to. Especially the first time around, or when it’s something new. Like when you’re a child growing up and you trip over your loose shoe string that you forgot to tie, and fall down and scrape your knee. Or when you take a wrong turn down a long road and end up farther away from your destination than planned. Things like this happen all off the time. As you go through life, you will make mistakes, which is perfectly normal. The most important thing, is that you learn from them.…

I used to be the kind of person who thought nothing could ever hurt me, until a usual morning turned into a disaster, which made me realize that life can be taken abruptly. My event is my car accident. After waving goodbye to my parents, I was off to work on a beautiful evening. It was August 2, 2002 I worked at Burger Kind which was in Perrysburg, Ohio. I remember listening that day to Alanis Morisette, looking at the beautiful wild daisies freshly blossoming on the side of the road. Then, all of a sudden, I heard a loud noise, which was the driver's side tire blowing out. That's when everything spun out of control. I remember hearing the air bag bursting out then lost control. I headed straight for the ditch and end for end my convertible two times and smashed into the ditch upside down the opposite way I was going. Soon after the convertible started to roll, I was knocked unconscious. When I woke up, my front half of my body was in between the front seat with my head in the back seat. A neighbor who was checking his field saw the entire event and rushed to help me. He called 911 for me once they arrived they had to use jaws of Life to get me out of the car which was in the ditch. A few minutes after I hear life flight landing. Within minutes, I was in the trauma center at Toledo Hospital. Later, I was in my room with minor injuries and stayed for observation. After that day, I came to realize that life is too precious to be taken for granted. I try to take each day and make it worthwhile. When my history teacher gives me reading homework, I rejoice in the fact I am here to read it at all, and that I can learn, instead of being a vegetable in the hospital like so many are after terrible car accidents. A doctor told me that I was lucky to be alive. Now, I live every day like it is my…
