Crash By Jerry Spinelli

Jerry Spinelli’s Crash is a book about change. The main character, Crash (his real name is John Coogan but everyone calls him Crash) changes from a bully to a nice person. Crash was under influence from a bully named Mike Deluca. Another character, Penn Webb, helps him turn into a nice person. The theme of this book is do not judge a book by its cover. Crash was a bully in many ways, so was Mike. For example, in the beginning of the story when both Crash and Penn were in first grade, Crash knows that Penn is a vegetarian, so this is what he does: “That afternoon I was turning the channels.
