My Creation Story
In the beginning of time, before anything or anyone existed, there was a God by the name of Nebe. He was a very wise and powerful God who had reigned over the heavens for millennia. To amuse and keep himself occupied, he created the earth. The earth became a reflection of his emotions, and for many years, was split between water and land.
Although he was almighty, he was exceptionally lonely and yearned for companionship. Eventually he created Laska, the Goddess of love, and also his wife. He saw her as the most beautiful of all of his creations. Laska, however, did not care for Nebe on the account of his controlling nature, and longed to be elsewhere. Although she had everything in the universe, including Nebe, she was genuinely unhappy.
Laska begged Nebe for decades to gift her with her freedom and permission to go and explore the Earth. At first, Nebe refused but eventually granted her request to go to Earth thinking it would be amusing to see how long she would last as a mortal. Laska pleaded with Nebe for a companion to keep her company while she roamed the Earth. Accepting her request he gifted her with Pecklo, the first mortal man.
While Laska and Pecklo wandered the Earth together, they fell in love and their affections for each other greatly angered Nebe. Out of a jealous rage, he proclaimed she would only have two years left on Earth before she had to return to him. Afraid and unhappy, Laska created a plan in which she would have a child so she would be able to keep a part of herself with Pecklo on Earth.
By the time Laska’s two years were over, she had given birth to a son. When Nebe came down to Earth to get her, Laska refused to go but was eventually forced to return to the heavens with Nebe. Before leaving the Earth, she gifted Pecklo with vegetation, fruit, and grains, to help keep him live in her absence.
