Creative Destruction Essay

Creative destruction describes the way in which new development arises and replaces its less innovative counterpart. There can be many different causes for creative destruction, whether it is more efficient ways of production, or technological advances. Creative destruction pushes companies, employees, and businesses to either adjust, or end up having their businesses and jobs fail.

An example of creative destruction in the modern world would be Netflix, torrenting movies online, and other forms of digital television and movies which have all contributed in the death of video stores. A big franchise such as Blockbuster, which has been open for nearly thirty years, has been seriously impacted by the technological development of online movie and television watching. People used to have to leave their house to go and rent a movie from the local video store, now with a few clicks of a button and for free you’re good to go, which is a perfect example of creative destruction at work.
In the future, I think many things will change with the new ways of technology, benefitting the “lazier” lifestyle that we all desire. One way that this will happen is with the new idea that Amazon has proposed and is trying to make possible; Amazon Prime Air. Amazon Prime Air is a next generation idea, and what they are trying to accomplish is a new delivery system to get packages (or mail) delivered to their customers’ hands in 30 minutes or less using unmanned aerial vehicles. This whole idea is game changing and if made possible, everyone will want to be apart of it, like FedEx and UPS. Which takes me to my point of how with this new form of delivery, will cause creative destruction. Mail would end up being delivered by aerial vehicles along with packages, or anything you order from anywhere would and or will be delivered to you in 30 minutes or less (or the realistic time frame from where said order is being delivered from.). Online retailers would

America is a multi-cultural country that has so many different people from different cultural background. The diversity also brings American people great cultural resources; even creates the unique and distinctive culture that represents America. In this class, I have taught so many great artists who were not originally from America and they mixed their own culture with the American spirits. In the class, I was introduced to two interesting terms: confiscation and fusion. Both words have the meaning of taking other people’s things as their own.…

Airborne Express the current underdog in the express mail business has been able to compete with market leaders due to innovation and optimization strategy. The company built on cutting cost and emphasizing reliability now faces pressure from the leaders UPS and FedEx to change their pricing strategy. This change from standard rate pricing to distance-based pricing puts Airborne in a dilemma in which they must choose to match the competition which will make them lose what sets them apart in the market or stay with the current strategy. Changing will increase their flexibility and could open them up to new consumers while staying the same might push them further into a niche market of long distance big business customers. Airborne should change to the distance-based pricing strategy and find a new way to differentiate itself so that it can continue to grow in the market. We recommend that they consider sticking to large business customers who deliver in bulks in order to cut the cost related to constant transportation. They may want to expand into the single item delivery business which delivers items in metropolitan areas by means of bicycles in 30 minutes. This will set Airborne apart and allow them to compete with the rest of the market.…

Every major industry was once a growth industry. But some that are now riding a wave of growth enthusiasm are very much in the shadow of decline. Others that are thought of as seasoned growth industries have actually stopped growing. In every case, the reason growth is threatened, slowed, or stopped is not because the market is saturated. It is because there has been a failure of management.…

Sculpting is another one of my favorite types of arts & crafts. Sculpting empowers me to take my creativity to a new level. I relish making things with my hands. In fact, I have sculpted many things. The many things include cat heads, cat mouths, and tiny cat figures. I enjoy making cat statues and after making either the head or the mouth, I would then make a mold of it. A mold allows me to make plastic copies of my sculpture to reuse and reuse.…
