Creative Writing About Middle School
New Adventures
After a deep, long, refreshing sleep, my eyes rapidly uncover to see the dark ceiling. I’ve never felt this awake and alert before. My eyes look up and see the fan spinning rapidly, unable to see each individual blade. I feel the cool, fresh, crisp air hit my cold face from the fan. Beneath my face, my body is warm and cozy under the covers. It’s almost like being in a sleeping bag in the middle of Antarctica, and not wanting to get out. I hear a loud obnoxious sound, I flinch, and look over at my alarm likes it a villain from a movie. I reach to turn it off, and think. It’s the first day of school. This isn’t any first day of school. This is the first day of middle school. I’m cool now, no more elementary school, walking

Suddenly the silent breaks of a slight laughter from the teacher, “It’s time for first period, if you don’t know where you are going look at your schedule or ask your advisor.” I pull my schedule out of my backpack and see I have Language Art with Ms. Moore. I walk to the other side of the middle school, and walk into the room. I look around the room to see table of girls with one seat open, so I go and sit next to them. We do the usuall expectations and policies for the class and introduce ourself. Class flies by, and before we know it it’s time to go! Once again I walk to the other side of the middle school to my science. I walk into the room and suddenly get excited. I see Erin, my one friend I know coming into Cary Academy. I realize no one is sitting down, so we must be getting assigned seats, I think to myself. The teacher, Mr. Himburg started calling out names to sit in tables with two seats per table. “Please sit me next to erin”, I say and pray in my head. Erins name gets called out, but mine isn’t the one next to her. I feel sad for a second, but then realize I will need to make new friends. Once again we do the same policies and expectations …show more content…
But since it’s the first day of school, we go to the handshaking ceremony, which according to my older brother is horrible. “I can’t believe we have shake every teacher and seniors hand!”, a girl from my band class exclaims. I start walking to the fitness center for the ceremony, and then I see a girl start walking up to me. I make our way to the fitness center and go our separate ways. I sit down with Megan and her friend and start talking, but then realize its about to start. Some people say some words, then all the teacher lines up in a perfect line, so swiftly, almost like clockwork. Suddenly I hear a burst of loud yelling and screaming as the seniors are announced to come down. All the seniors start shaking the hands of their former teachers, and giving occasional hugs to some. After shaking hands of all the teacher, the seniors start lining up next to teachers to continue the handshaking line. After all the seniors and teachers are situated, the call us, the 6th graders, the class of 2019 to come down and start shaking hands. I start walking down with all the other 6th graders, feeling like a huge pack of animals all trying to get to the place. After waiting for a couple minutes I start shaking every teachers hand, starting with the 6th grade teachers. Most of the teachers look down at my name tag and say “Hi Caroline, have a good year”. I'm six years old, and I'm secretly watching the girls in my class loudly chatting in the corner of the classroom. It's 2008, and I'm quietly sitting on my desk, wondering to myself: "Am I not important enough for a simple goodbye?". I nervously shift on the chair, impatiently waiting for the minutes to tick by. My red sweater is itching against my throat. The teacher came in and we begin class as usual. Ms. Claudia is talking about our final reflections…

I dreaded the alarm that woke me up at 6:30 in the morning. It was as loud as a screaming toddler that could be heard for miles. I groggily got out of bed and got ready for my first day of school. It was a weird feeling not putting on a uniform like I had been for the past nine years, but I also enjoyed that freedom. The nervousness became more and more intense as I could closer and closer to campus. When we arrived, I got out of the car, and watched my dad drive off to go take my younger sister to school. There was no going back now; I had no other choice than to walk through those doors. I felt like my throat was in my stomach. I noticed some familiar faces, and I walked towards them. While I was approaching my friends, a senior, facing toward me, walked passed. He must have been at least six feet tall, which was incredibly intimidating for me at just over five feet. I was not used to the fact that I’d potentially have classes with these giants. Additionally, the array of new teachers, and having to learn all of their teaching styles and things they did or did not tolerate was hard in…

These past few years at Lionville Middle School have been some of the most memorable and exciting parts of my life. I came to Lionville Middle School from Shamona Creek Elementary. Shamona Creek elementary was much smaller than the gargantuan, new middle school. Also, there were so many more students and teachers. I expected the middle school to be filled to the brim with classrooms and I was correct. Some of my first memories here are quietly coming into the school and looking for my classroom. I did not even know where to go or how to get there. All around I saw kids getting to their classes right away, while I was stuck in the hallways. Fortunately, I saw a friend and followed him toward my new classroom. When I got my new locker, I had…

The bus is very loud. Will I fit in? I had so many thoughts on the first day of school. ”This is my chance. I had to remind myself that it would be okay because I needed to have confidence. It was my first time at being at Lindley so I no friends. I was concerned why people were laughing. I had to ask the principle where my first class was. Lindley Middle School was seemed gigantic. When I finally got to my first class, I met so many new people like Kaniya and To’Keitha. I noticed that there was nothing to be scared of because everybody was very nice and welcoming. Later on in the year, I have advance classes, great grades, awesome friends and that’s because I have put myself out there and I attracted friends. My instincts weren’t right because…

Its first period and I’m not quite awake yet. It’s too early for conversation and too early to think. As my classroom fills up all the girls greet me because we all know each other in this class. We've become like a little family of crazy giggling girls, and I’m like the Soprano I section leader here in the Women’s Honor Choir as well as the only senior. The bell rings and we get to singing, and something magical happens- well, “magical” probably wasn't the best word to use since there wasn't any sorcery at work here. The better word would be something like “neurological”. Yes, something neurological happens and it’s quite simple really- I wake up. Not only do I wake…

It was a sunny day in August when I nervously started 6th grade at a new school named MSA, a charter school located in Santa Clara, with less than 500 people including middle and high school. As I wake up to the smell of fresh breakfast biscuits on a hot August morning, I get the sudden feeling of nervous butterflies in my stomach. Today was mine and Cassie’s first day at the Jefferson Davis School, a former whites-only school, who wanted us to join. No one really knows why, but Mama agreed. Mama came into my room to get me out of bed, then to Cassie’s. Both of us were extremely anxious and did not want to go, but Mama did not want to hear it, so we kept quiet and obeyed. After dressing up in our nice clothes and eating a good breakfast, we ran to ride the bus for the very first time. Cassie and I were going to be put in the same classes because we are new, despite our age difference. As we approached the bus, Jeremy, who was in line, spotted us. “Hey Cassie! Hey Stacey!” he called out. “I heard you guys are coming to the…

Through all of the chaos, we made it to our stop, which happened to be the gym. We were all ushered into the bleachers so we could get briefed on our next 3 years in middle school. We all gladly took our seats and let the show begin. It was all a blur of boring and useless information. Now I wished I had listened to what they said, but oh well. When it was over we were removed from the gym and were told to go to our first core class. Getting there was very difficult. The rest of the day was filled with teachers telling us their expectations for the rest of the year, as well as boring information about…

I didn't go the whole day like my brother Colton did. I only had to do the last three out of a total eight classes. As soon as I got to the school, I met with the coach, and was asked some questions pertaining to wrestling, academics, as well as my own personal interests. He came out and told my parents that I did a wonderful job answering everything the way I should. I just sat in the chair thinking that this might be my future, and it was only the beginning of hopeful a historic run at being one of the most known wrestlers in the nation. Coach Green, the coach I met with, told my parents that I would be touring the school with one of their sophomore wrestlers. Me, being the way I am knew most of their kids in the lineup, and the one wrestler my dad and I had a conversation about, turned out to be my tour guide. Mr. Green, told me that I would be touring with Beau Bartlett, who is currently ranked second in the nation in the 125/130 weight class. With that being said, I was very eager to start the rest of the day, yet had some sort of anxiety to prove myself to the other students, and teachers. I was waiting, then after about 10 minutes, he arrived. I then was on my way to tour the school, and go class to class seeing what his prep high school campus was like. On our way to his language class, we stopped at this little metal plate in the ground. It had an oval shape, and was a dirty bronze. It had a giant “SEM” stamped in the middle, and around it was these words Verum, Pulchrum, Bonum” this is the school motto, it stands for, the true, the beautiful, and the good. After we were done talking about the school's motto, we scurried into the classroom in the language arts building. Yes, their is a building strictly dedicated to the art of language. I sat down in the classroom, seated next to Beau, I looked…

The first day of school, as expected, was strange. Students were all excited to see each other after three months. While everyone else was concerned with catching up with friends, all I really wanted was someone to talk to me. Even if it was simply to ask who I was and what I was doing there. Things continued to be awkward during the first few days. Some people stared, and to others, I was invisible, but…

My first day was an okay day; there weren't so many kids there because the senior’s juniors and sophomores didn't have school that day. My first thought about school was that, I didn't want school to start yet because it was still summer. I was a little nervous at first but when I got there I was fine. I went to all my classes and I thought wow this is going to be hard. I got lost a couple of times because it was a big school and I was new. Then the day after that everybody was here at school and it was very crowed I could barely get to class on time. The first week of high school was pretty easy because we didn’t have a lot to do.…
