Creative Writing: King Greedy Pickle
Once upon a time, there was a miller named Jerry Robaeu (pronounced rob you). Jerry lived with his wife Milda and his beautiful daughter, Charlie. They were very poor. They ate crumbs, and chewed on rat bones. It was a very difficult life for the Robaeu family.
As the miller delivered his monthly quota to the castle, he was bragging about how his daughter could spin straw into gold, hoping that someone would want to marry her. One of the king’s spies overheard, and immediately reported this information to the king. King Greedy Pickle then invited Jerry to his court. He ordered for the daughter to come to his castle as soon as possible.
Right when the daughter arrived at the castle, the king’s guards escorted Charlie to a small, damp room filled with straw. Charlie saw a

Then a small sound echoed throughout the dark room. A little man appeared in front of her, glowing intensely. “Who are you?” Charlie asked.
“My name is mine to know, and for you to guess,” the little man said. “I will spin this straw into gold for you, if you give me all your children.” Charlie considered that for a moment and then reluctantly agreed. He seemed to glow a little brighter from that, obviously very happy with their, or in this case his, deal. The little man walked over to the spinning wheel and turned to the straw.
When Charlie woke up from a nap, gold thread was piled around the room, and the little man was gone. She looked out the window, and saw the sun rising. Charlie heard a click and turned around. In walked the king, surrounded by guards. His eyebrows shot up in surprise.
“Be my bride!” He exclaimed. He didn’t say this because he loved her, but because of greed. Her supposed gold spinning skills would make his kingdom rich. Obviously, she said yes. The gold in the room was used to make goldware for their wedding and decorate the king’s
