Creative Writing - My Perfect Day
My Perfect Day

Tik, tok, tik tok, my palms are sweaty, my breaths are shallow. My hearts is pounding in my ears, I feel so stressed, maths examinations make me really nervous. Think about a good place, calm my nerves, yes my perfect day, I carry myself back to a perfect day at the beach...........

Excitement builds within me when I hear the soothing sound of waves crashing on a deserted beach and smell the saltiness hanging in the air. Waves crashing onto the fine sand beckon me to pick my boogie board up lodged in the fine sand next to me. The tide takes me out in waves of ups and downs until I am ready to ride the perfect wave back! The coolness of the water soothes my hot skin as it gently washes over me. I feel exhilarated when after what feels like hours my feet sink into the wet sand leaving foot prints behind me on my way back to my towel on the beach.

My exhausted body moulds into the sand as my wet skin soaks every willing ray of sunshine up. Beads of water move around my skin as the sun directs the traffic. I close my eyes and feel that red glow as the heat penetrates my eyelids, encouraging me to take that perfect nap. I wake to find deposits of crystalised salt on my skin and my throat screaming for a drink or even better an ice-cream to quench my thirst. My tongue laps up every last morsel of dripping deliciousness and cone before I take my red bucket to explore the jagged rocks on the far left.

I cannot wait to see what I find today in the crevices and ponds beyond. My feet feel sensitive as I walk over the rocks and all their permanent lodgers attached in neat little rows like terraced houses back home. As I approach I see little claws scurrying back to safety and little fish zigzagging across the pools of water. My bucket becomes a mish-mash of dried seaweed, forlorn shells and some pieces of unwanted drift wood. I love using my finds to build that castle that will not succumb to any enemy other than high tide

Waking up to the sound of the waves crashing, vendors on the beach are offering fresh cold coconuts; children are playing in the warm, equatorial water. The beach is serene and quiet compared to the wild parties of the night before. The sun is warming; the world is coming alive and the day beginning. You walk a little further and accommodate your route to avoid the build up of smashed bottles in the sand. A homeless man lies ahead of you. A plastic bag washes up on the shore along with a dead blowfish.…

The crumbling leaves swayed, as the winter air crashed against his home. Walking towards his farm, William became uncomfortably aware of his surroundings. He grew up in this town, spending his days working and adventuring in every niche of the area. For an eighteen year old, his journey of life was monotonous. He endeavoured to peregrinate and advance his life- but his next journey was one that caused a nauseous, yet prideful feeling in the pit of his stomach.…

The thirty-first of August was a day Dipper both loved and hated. It meant he had survived another year without Bill Cypher rearing his triangular head but, that he was a year closer to that eventuality. On one particularly paranoid night, he had ground up moonstone and unicorn hair into a magical ink and snuck out to a shady tattoo parlour with a fake id and two years worth of saved allowance. So here he was on his sixteenth birthday trying to figure out how to hide the wards he had etched into his upper body from his parents. Mable thought it would be a good idea to have her sweet sixteen on the beach and as her twin brother, he was obligated to let her have her way at least on her sixteenth birthday."Well, the cat was going to come out of…

As Bethany Hamilton once said, "Being out there in the ocean, God's creation, is like a gift he has given us to enjoy." The smell of grilled hot dogs lingered in the hot, Summer air from the boardwalk, and I smiled because I knew that it was going to be a wonderful day. To begin, I ran towards the luscious, majestic waves as they kissed the shoreline. For example, the waves came crashing down onto the sand with such a powerful force. As I began to run closer to the ocean, my feet touched the jewel- blue water, making my body shiver. Next, I looked around the crowded beach at all of the kids playing, noticing how much fun they were having. For instance, I could hear the waves splashing and the children playing on this hot Summer day. The sand…

The sand scorched our feet like steaks on a fiery grill. I had brought the Rock along to join me for a surfing lesson. We snatched our wetsuits and our boards and hit the waves. The ocean water sends a chilling sensation through my body. The polar water feels like a steamy shower after a long day, calming and relaxing. The waves are monstrous and intimidating, however, I seem to ride them effortlessly like I had done it a million times before. I dash past the Rock and under a curling wave. In the waves there are vividly colored fish swimming in schools. The water is so translucent that one can easily see the ocean floor, and the coral and seaweed that lay on…

Another day has passed, another sunrise witnessed. Laney wakes up on one of the cold, hard benches of Central Park. She looks around to see the same scene as she always does, the fountain, the first group of tourists, and the same trees that she has seen everyday since her parents died. She sits up and a shiver trickles up her spine. Laney looks down at her shoes, filled with holes, her pants, ripped and torn, and her hands, numb and frozen. A couple walks by and glances over at Laney, they start whispering and Laney knows exactly what they're saying, it’s what everyone says. “Aw, poor thing, just look at her clothes, I feel so bad.” Despite what everyone says, very rarely does anyone put money in the old, rusty can Laney found by the trash can. She stands up and starts walking toward the dollar store,…

As I sprint across the hot sand that burns the soles of my feet, the smell of salt water and sunscreen hits my face. I can see teenagers nearby as they dive to save a falling volleyball, covering themselves in grains of sand. While I’m preoccupied, watching the intense game of volleyball, the cold waves of the Atlantic Ocean come crashing down on my legs. I can hear my best friend, Tara, dying of laughter as my body tries to adjust to the temperature of the sparking turquoise waters. Surrounding us is vibrantly colored tropical plants and trees.…

As the children are playing water polo they are attempting to dodge the massive waves coming to the shore. The sound of the waves is so relaxing however, knowing there are young children near the powerful waves makes me nervous and on the lookout for one of them not returning above the waves. I understand the fun in dodging the waves because that was something I lived for as a child but it can be very dangerous. The touch of the soft, white sand on my feet is a feeling I will never forget. Personally, I think it is better than the feeling of soft carpet on your feet. The smell of the ocean's salt water is not one of my favorites but I adapt to it after sitting on the beach for so long. I just sit there and take in all the beautiful scene around…

The beach’s ambience was relaxing yet hectic. Parents were lying on their large beach towels, soaking in the sun such as a sponge would absorb water. Ernest lay in bed, laboriously breathing with turpentine and olive oil painted onto his throat for the war had not been good to him and the Spanish Flu was spreading like wildfire among the people in New York. Mother was sitting in a chair with frozen tears upon her pale cheeks, a deep red cascading from her wrists and flowing between her fingers. Her mouth was slightly ajar as though she wanted to say something. But desperation had silenced her forevermore and every voice she had was sewn together. My own mouth was slightly ajar, a thickness of silence and despair too suffocating to handle. I waded helplessly through it with a deep red set about my hands as they touched the cheeks of my eldest brother. His body had become pale, deathly…

It was nearly sunset and I was relaxing along the soothing beach in Capitola, California. My brother and sister were assembling sand and shells to make a colossal sand city while my parents were in two chairs chatting. As I was ambling down the oceanfront my feet would feel the chilly waves and I could sense the gentle wind blowing my way. I was reminiscing about the exciting activities previously that day, including swimming through the waves, body surfing, and passing around a volleyball with my brother.…

We stroll on the beach, and my feet sink into the soft sand. I stroll along, and the grainy, slick, brown sugar sand pulls my bare feet under and leaves a perfect imprint. I pick up a handful and sift it from my palm slowly, feeling the grittiness of sand with each finger. The view down the beach of the white, but slightly brown sand was enough to make my knees go weak. The sand is such a sensational feeling between my toes and a beautiful view against the crystal blue water.…
