Creative Writing: Soldier Aturmica
The Greek air was crisp and cool breeze ruffled up the colored leaves that cluttered the ground. Soldier Aturmica stopped for a moment. She closed her eyes, and allowed her senses to amplify; from a deer chewing while grazing the fields to a leaf falling on the ground she heard it all.

“What’s the hold up?”

Realizing that she was not in her own world she blushed. She was holding up the rest of the soldiers behind her.

“Are we there yet?” Another asked.

“We keep heading east,” The commander said.

Enough!” the commander shouted.

“What is the meaning of this, someone put that fire out?” The commander demanded, trying to regain control.

“Your insubordination! What is your purpose?” The commander asked Carmen.

“My quarrel is not with you.” Carmen replied.

Feeling disrespected the commander responded, “You would not have that satisfaction.”

Angering Carmen more, “Do you know who I am, who my mother is? She’s given the gods a run for their money.” Carmen replied.

“I am the Gods reigning champion, I out beat all my brothers and even my father, do you know who I am?” The commander asked.

“It’s me she wants.” Aturmica said emerging from the woods and into the camps.

Carmen has left a sour taste on most of the soldier’s mouths, but they never imagined that she would ever go up against the Commander, or even Aturmica. Carmen had no boundaries, and the soldiers saw that today. Turning into her true form Carmen became a dark pink silhouette with glowing blue eyes. Her red hair was now tied up in one long thick ponytail. Without hesitation she threw a ball of smoke at Aturmica and everyone in shocked waited to see what she would be transformed into, maybe a rat, a roach, or something worse. When the smoke dissolved they realized that Aturmica had not changed one

Revealing the rest of her body, a lean frame there was no proof of battle on her, and in the least the scars were non-existent. To convince someone that this women had commanded the strongest warriors, fought along side the legendary Amazons, and successfully won some of history’s most deadly battles, only someone of naivety could believe the stories. Aturmica was in no position to question her doubts as she had multiple gifts of her own. Aturmica had the attributes of a model, tall and very beautiful. She was often undermined because of her lanky body, lengthy slender arms, and no body definition. However in defiance of her being a lanky matron amongst the warriors, She is blessed with super strength. Ultimately being the strongest amongst her

Growing up in the military, I was no stranger to picking up and moving from one place to another. By the age of 6, I had already flown across the Pacific Ocean four times! I was born on Clark Air Base in the Philippines, a large group of tropical islands located in Southeast Asia in the western Pacific Ocean. After my sister was born, we were relocated to Carswell Air Force Base near Ft. Worth, Texas, which is where I spent the first two years of elementary school. From there, the military moved us back to the Philippines. Our last move, however, was both unexpected and definitely the most eventful.…

On Athena’s annual visit to the soldiers of the battlefield, she discovered a biting problem: the warriors received little rest in between their ceaseless marches and tours in enemy territory. While waging and fighting war, these men struggled under the watchful eyes of Ares—pugnacious, warring, fierce—when invading and conquering outside threats, and Athena—calculating, wise, mindful—when defending and protecting the home. The lack of rest contributed directly to a noticeable instability among the ranks and desertions that would often leave the armies weak and unconsolidated. Such inefficiency was the cause of lost battles and men in otherwise vital situations.…

I clumsily loped my way over to him and grabbed his ankles. I turned and started dragging him to the tent, digging my feet into the ground. A lioness’s strength poured through me. Adrenaline surged through my blood, giving me the power I needed to carry a 180 pound man (with gear on). I reached the tent, a mere 20 or so feet away. I bent down and lifted him slowly onto a low table, about two feet off the ground. He grunted in pain.…
