Creative Writing: To Kill A Mockingbird: A Fictional Narrative
Maybe I can help, I mean it’s sort of my fault he isn't wearing pants. “ ‘d give you some of mine,” I offered as I saw that we were approaching my house. I handed him my trousers. Jem tried to get the pants on, but his big legs couldn't fit in the leg holes.
“I couldn't get into them, but thanks anyway,” Jem whispered as he discreetly handed them back to me. I said goodbye and was making my way into the house. I then remembered something and someone very important to me. I turned around and bolted back to Scout and kissed her quickly. I was very embarrassed and looked at her face as I was running back to the house. Her face was red.
“Yawl write, hear?” I yelled to them before closing the door. Slam, just like that, my summer was over.
“Now Dill, you best be getting to bed son you have an early

I couldn't sleep I was way too excited to sleep Dad might be home when I get back.

“Stop,” I felt someone shaking me. “Stop it,” the shaking persisted. “Leave me alone,” I hissed. My eyes opened and I was greeted with the horrible face of my waking force.
“Dill, oh, I told you to go to bed early it's time to wake up,” Aunt Rachel said as she ripped the comforter off my body. She looked old in her morning scrubs and curlers.
“Young man, you better be in the kitchen in by 8:00,” she said as she walked out the door. I looked over at the clock next to my bed and realized that it was 7:50 I suddenly went into a panic. I was scrambling around my room, packing all of my clothes, and putting on clothes. With all the speed and desperation to get home I sprinted to the kitchen.
“Aunt Rachel I’ll eat breakfast at home, I need to go catch my train.” I ran out the door with my pack and headed to the station. As I was walking away, I blew a kiss to Aunt Rachel sitting, on the porch. She caught the kiss and brought it to her cheek. With that I was on my way home.

Throughout To Kill a Mockingbird, prejudice is a very serious topic and it affects all the people of Maycomb. It is part of the events that happen, and how the people respond to it. Racial prejudice is shown throughout the trial, but it’s also still going on today. An example is when young black men are shot and killed by white police officers. It’s showing that when white men are on the run, police officers are more gentle with them and not as violent with them as they are black men. Class prejudice is shown through how the different people and families in Maycomb are treated and act towards others. In today’s world, people with a different color of skin are treated differently than white people. Gender prejudice is shown through how Scout…

Aunt Alexandra was fanatical on the subject of my attire. I could not possibly hope to be a lady if I wore breeches; when I said I could do nothing in a dress, she said I wasn't supposed to be doing anything that required pants. Aunt Alexandra's vision of my deportment involved playing with small stoves, tea sets, and wearing the Add-A-Pearl necklace she gave me when I was born furthermore, I should be a ray of sunshine in my father's lonely life. I suggested that one could be a ray of sunshine in pants just as well, but Aunty said that one had to behave like a sunbeam, that I was born good but had grown progressively worse every year. She hurt my feelings and set my teeth permanently on edge, but when I asked Atticus about it, he said there were already enough sunbeams in the family and to go about my business, he didn't mind me much the way I was.…

“Miles come eat your food before it gets cold!” Alyssa Baker yelled from the kitchen waking me from my dream. I groggily get up from my bed and headed towards the bathroom. The shower was on and I assumed the witch was using it. I reached for the knob and realized that it was locked, I knocked on the door. “Olivia I need to use the bathroom” I mumbled and got no answer. “Olivia!” I shouted. Not sure if she could hear through the shower, I made one last attempt at kicking the door; still nothing. Sometimes I liked her but also hated her. I stumbled to the kitchen still a little tired. “Please don’t wake me up unless the bathroom is free.” I told her. She turned around and glared at me. “Well maybe if you didn’t sleep until 3 in the afternoon the bathroom would be open for you” She remarked. “Well we can’t all be as perfect as you Alyssa Baker” I retorted. She stopped with the dishes and sighed. “You can call me mom whenever you’d like Miles.” She replied with a snort. “Whenever I like” I muttered. One of the few things I do enjoy about Alyssa Baker is her amazing food. I decided to grab a glass of milk then I took a bite out of today’s breakfast. Of course the best pancakes I’ve ever tasted. “I’m going to stay the night at Andrew’s house.” I told her. “Do you want me to make you something to eat?” She asked. I thought about the question for a second. “Sure.” I mumbled. I finished my breakfast and went to see if Olivia was done with the bathroom. From her now closed door I could tell she was out; time to start the day.…
