Creative Writing: Wedding Toast For My Sister Makaila
Wedding Toast for my sister Makaila
Hi, I’m Emily Astle; I’m the bride's older sister and maid of honor. I’m so proud of my sister for finding the right man for her. I knew right away he was perfect for her; it was amazing seeing her face light up whenever she talked about Shawn. As you might know, my sister never shies away from love. It reminds me of our snuggle times. Even though I didn't always want her affection, I'm glad she ignored my requests. It would have prevented our deep talks in the hammock during snuggle time; those talks helped me get to know my sister better. Some of my favorite memories are with my sister, from hanging upside down in the hammock to swing dancing together. She taught me and others the virtue of unconditional

Charles wanted to perform on broadway and asked Amber to go with him. That was six years ago. The mother of the bride was never to be nervous, but I was. Thoughts swirled around my mind that first day I received the invitation. Amber was my gift from God. He, Himself, had put her in my path. I did not know how I felt giving her up. Emmett told me that Amber will always be our blessing, but that it was time to allow someone else a blessing. I caved; as soon as I saw Emmett give Amber away, I knew, I knew that my blessing had been passed to someone else.…

I am contacting you to inform you of some issues that have I have been concerned with when it comes to Kami and her performance on the JV cheer team. First and foremost, I just want to let you know that it has been a pleasure working with Kami on our team. Kami brings a very energetic and infectious vibe to our team. She has grown tremendously as an individual and as an athlete. However, lately, it is that same energetic and infectious behavior that has become a distraction for the team, especially during our practices. Today, Kami and her team had to run three laps because she was laughing and talking during stunts. As you know as a longtime cheer parent, stunting is a time that has to be taken seriously, otherwise there is the potential for…

I couldn't hold in the excitement when she asked me. She gave me a book about flower girls, and I still have it sitting on my wooden desk in my room today. Her wedding was beautiful, she was walking down the aisle in a elegant white dress, and a big smile on her face. I will never forget that beautiful moment, and how much happiness there was. Her life was short, but she loved life so much.…

It’s the 19th century; I have just married Jake Luklly. He was coming back to Nebraska to tend to his parents farm. Him and my brother were childhood friends and my Papa adored him. When we were little children he used to sneak through the garden to play with my brother. His farm then was fairly close until they moved further north. Being the younger sister, I could never keep up with the boys. I continued to trip on my dress when they ran. I remember that day like it was yesterday. Mama scolded me for ripping the new dress she had just sewn up for me from scraps of her finest dress she grew out of. She saved it just for me. My brother and Jake never paid attention to me. Always left me alone to play with my dolls. Papa told me that they were…

I arrived to a church crowded with friends and family. So many people had gone to St. John’s Cathedral to witness the simple, yet elegant, tradition. There were also relatives from Mexico and Puerto Rico who took the long tiring trip to attend. I was honored to see so many people there on my special day. My court of honor led the way into the church. When it was my turn to walk down the aisle, soft music was played by the organist. I felt like a princess walking in my big, beautiful ball gown. My gown was similar to a wedding dress except it was a pastel pink. When the ceremony started it was nerve racking. I was thinking about my hair and people staring at me from behind, and hoping my tiara or…

My ancestors came in my country of America in chains. Take a look at me now. One more look. Once again perhaps. I see Barack almost everyday, praying as a Muslim in the Oval Office and around the Beautiful House. Also, all the years we have knowing each other, he has been praying as a Christian as I am. I could not be more proud to say, if any Muslim or Christian leader in our wonderful nation, the United States of America, or around the world can run his or her country like he has been running for almost a decade, we will all be living with the Angels in heaven on Earth. But it wasn't easy, look at his gray hair. What we inherited first day we walked in until tonight, it sure wasn't easy. Forget about the odds that were against us, excluding for Oprah. Godly souls always have been showing themselves among their own kind in a gathering dropping…

When I first began oral communications, the speech I was most excited to give was the interview speech. This is because I knew exactly who I wanted to do and that it would be interesting to get to ask him about his life. In my last speech, I had some struggles and didn’t perform in a way that I strive for. This motivated me to practice my skills more and get better. Just this past week I decided I would give the sport of wrestling a shot. In the past, I have participated in basketball. Since I’m one of the shorter kids in my class I thought I should give up this sport and try something new. Into my first week of wrestling I picked up a quote that’s left a deep affect on me. Coach Allen told us a quote by Winston Churchill that says, “Failure isn’t fatal, and success isn’t final.” This quote says a lot about my personal experience and interview…
