Learning can be pleasant when a man speaks well, especially when he seeks your benefit.’’ (1146-1151) Teiresias tries to explain to Creon that there is no reason to kill Antigone; the person he wants to hurt is already dead. If he keeps killing people that were close to the brother than that is only adding onto the sins he already had. The gods will not accept so much of such behavior before they will want to do something about it. Antigone shows determination by standing up for what she believes in. She doesn’t back down and shows no weakness. ‘’.And if I have to die before my time, well, I count that a gain. When someone has to live the way I do, surrounded by so many evil things, how can she fail to find a benefit in death?’’ (521-526) She says if she dies she will die for something meaningful.
