Crest White Strips and Iced Coffee

Crest White Strips and Iced Coffees Living in the 21st Century, there have been so many changes to grocery stores. In the past, you could never walk into the grocery store and purchase food and clothing all in the same place. While there have been so many changes, our lifestyles have evolved as well. So many people attend the grocery on a daily basis. It also used to be the mother’s job to grocery shop and the now the roles have shifted a little and fathers grocery shop too. Some families even make it an outing and everyone goes to ensure that they have everything they need. So many other stores have added their own grocery sections to compete with grocery stores. Now gas stations and dollar stores have grocery areas when you can purchase small necessities so you won’t have to go to the actual market. Unlike in the past, Wal-Mart and Target also have an electronic department which allows you to make a one-stop shop and get everything you may need. The prices of items have also gone up significantly which causes us to live differently and save more money. I feel as though milk is a perfect example of an item that has changed over the 21st century. We have so many different flavors to choose from and the brands have also branched out by having different extensions of their products, such as iced coffees and smoothies. Another item that has changed our lifestyles over the years that never ceases to amaze me is Crest white strips and at-home whitening kits. A task that once had to be scheduled at a dentist office can now be done at in home in matter of 30 minutes or less. This definitely changes our lifestyle and values because tradition is to attend the dentist but throughout the years we have learned that it is more cost effective and takes less time to do it yourself. Though many people may feel as though our lives are evolving so quickly, everything evolves together. We as people change to accommodate the times and trends.

The grocery industry is a commoditized industry, which makes it difficult for grocers to sustain through differentiation. Buyer power is high and thus, cost leadership and operational efficiencies are critical. There is fierce competition amongst various grocery stores, with the main players such as Loblaw and A&P holding multi-banner stores in various market segments. Traditional grocery stores also lose some of their market share to drug stores, convenience stores and other retailers who have entered the industry. Threat of substitutes from fast-food and take- away outlets is not as prevalent, since many grocery stores have started stocking ready-to-eat meals and have deli services available for consumers. Competitive pressures are increasing in the industry with the potential entry of Wal-Mart and new delivery methods such as the internet.…

The world is has never been the same. People living a century ago, can never imagine the world we are living in. Over the last one hundred years we have seen extraordinary changes in technology. We had been on the foul smelling four leg carts and now at the foul smelling gas consuming four wheels. We wished to be like birds flying here and there, now we are visiting planets and isolated areas. We dreamed to go “Around the world in Eighty Days” and now we communicate across the world in seconds. The culture of the people changes accordingly with the devolvement in science and technology. From the literature to living styles, every thing changes shape with the passage of time.…
