Adoption and success of these applications has varied for several reasons
 Limited utility at the Police Station, which is the primary data generation point:
• Generally considered data sinks with lots of input and little output • Little reduction in the necessity for repetitive, manual tasks; and little reduction in the need to enter each data item multiple times

• Inadequate local language support
 Usually were standalone systems that did not share data with other police stations and other police formations
 Applications not adequately user-friendly

Predictive policing focuses on some strategies which will be used in the remaining of this paper to address the comparison and cotrast of the use IT in policing versus random street patrols, how Inormation Systems have allowed police departments that implement tools such as COMPSTAT to respond to crime faster, and implementing the SWOT analysis on behalf of police departments that intend to implement predictive policing.…

    The instruments used to measure crime in the United States are the Uniform Crime Reports and the National Crime Victimization Survey. Statistic of crime are used to determine the effectiveness of the new laws and programs, and staff, and procedural changes, budget decisions about equipment, staffing and the initiation, continuation, or determination of new changes in crime rates millions of dollars are allocated based on statistical reports of the success or failure of programs and initiative, reputations are made or destroyed according the rise or fall of crime.
