STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
How does crime and violence affect the lives of the citizens in the Gordon Pen Community?
Research Questions/Aims: 1) What are the main causes of crime and violence in the inner city community of Gordon Pen? 2) How does the problem impact the lives of the residence in the community? 3) What can be done to correct this problem?
RATIONALE
I am a resident of the Gordon Pen community; hence I have seen firsthand how crime and violence adversely affects the residence of the community. This has influenced my decision to use my School Based Assessment as a means of obtaining valuable information and possible solutions to the above stated problem. In conducting this research these are a few things that are expected to be revealed: some of the main causes of crime and violence in this community and other inner city communities, the effect it has on the citizens socially and financially as well as any
