Crime scene investigators help legal officials and lawyers prepare criminal preceedings. When doing so, it is usually to explain their official resports and the evidence to make sure it's understood. Also, investigators are called to testify in court, where they are the most important authority on what was found at the crime scene and what conclusions were drawn.
