Introduction
With each passing day the crisis in Pakistan are increasing. The people of Pakistan now seem to be fed up of dealing with one problem after another. The most serious problem among the prominent issues that the people of Pakistan are facing today is the increase of street crimes. Every day people hear about the incidences of mobile snatching and thefts at gunpoint, thefts of cars, motorcycles, they here of murders and robberies, rapes, firing and so on. These are categorized as “street crimes”.
When you will discuss this particular topic in public, you will be surprised to see that every person has a story to tell about having their purse or wallet of cell phone stolen. It has been observed that these crimes takes place largely in big cities, where there are homeless people in large numbers and where people have a founding for expensive unnecessary luxuries of life. It is highly regretted that these incidents are on the rise instead of decline.
Some crimes are senseless and they are preventable. Mobile phone snatching, snatching of vehicles on gun point, and target killing and so on are some street crimes that are newly introduced and are increasing each day. The reason for the occurrence of these crimes are unemployment, illiteracy, poverty, hunger and inability of being responsible for maintain law and order. The official analysis of the data compiled by the Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) has revealed that everyday more than 124 mobile phones are snatched or stolen in the metropolis city of Karachi. This growing trend of cellphone theft in different parts of this city is the failure of police in containing the crime.
