Other information the attorney will want to look at is the ability to understand, state of mind at the time of the event where he or she was charged for. At this point the attorney can ask the client some questions such as “what event happened leading to the incident”. Its very important that the client tells their defense lawyer the truth and important information before going to court.While talking to the client the attorney should make notes of whether the client shows signs that they're suffering from some type of mental disorder One can also discover this in the history stage by asking the client if they take and medication. If the defendant seems to not be telling the truth or is just not aware of it then the attorney should first undertake a proceeding in court to test the defendant's mental capacity to stand trial. Once the history stage is complete the attorney can now examine the events and determine if some law has been violated.
