The state department of corrections has hired me, a consultant to propose a new correctional institution in the hills between the California border and Nevada border. As a consultant, I have been chosen to provide the state board with a prison plans to accommodate prisoners. The new plans will determine if the new prison should affect any of the board members or correctional institutions. As a consultant I have researched and made accommodations for housing, cafeteria, yard, and programs. The new prison will be a maximum prison and will contain all prisoners that are serving 5 years to life sentences. In this proposal, I will define the programs that the prison will obtain and all necessary actions required to move forward in this transaction. The new prison policy will determine if the same policies should remain or if changes should be made. The new prison will not only accommodate inmates but the safety of correctional officers and visitors.
All the prisons procedures should be followed under a very strict manner to ensure that the prison functions properly and effectively. The issue at hand is addressing the overcrowded facilities in California; therefore, can be simply carried out with easy solutions. The issues will be addressed and a course of action will be implemented. Everything in a prison must be on close watch. The correctional officers should be watched just as well as the inmates; therefore, cameras will be placed at every angle in the facility so there will be no blind spots. This new prison facility will be advanced in newer technologies, and should have only skilled and trained correctional officers on duty. There should be no excuse for not knowing the proper prison procedures, rules, and mission statement of this new facility.
This facility will house 1,000 inmates; there will be two inmates to a cell in a two-story wing that will contain forty cells
