Some students will graduate from school, get interesting jobs, and make a lot of money soon after graduation, while others will struggle to move ahead in the working world. Every student deserves the best chance to be successful after graduation. Some course have been proven to lead to higher incomes than others. Perhaps, students can increase their chances of being successful simply by choosing these careers. It is also possible that some courses are simply riskier, lead to less pleasurable occupations, or require particular skills or natural abilities that only a few people have (Scholz, 1996). Specifically, we will conduct a survey in order to find out the socio-demographic background and reasons of first year students. The questions that comprises this study are as follows:
1. What are the career choices of first year BS Criminology students?
2. How desirable are the different careers in Criminology and Criminal Justice to BS Criminology students?
3. What are the reasons for selecting their career choice?
4. What are the career decision self-efficacy, career decision making difficulties, and career locus of control of BS Criminology students?
