I enjoy researching cases, analysing the evidence and watching documentaries and one particular case that I am interested in is the Murder of Stephen Lawrence in 1993. Studying Law has helped me to understand what law is, the different types of law within the English Legal System and how government apply these laws. Sociology has widened my understanding on the study of society and its individuals and the research of a variety of cultures has aided me to adapt in various settings and given me the knowledge about the dissimilarities of cultures. Studying communication studies has led me to understand the communication process and critically analyse the ways in which media and communication reflects, represents and influences the world.
Outside of my studies, I volunteer at the YMCA supporting young individuals from all different walks of life ranging between the ages of 16 and 25. My role consists of acting as a mentor, organising activities and to offer provision and advice for the challenges they may be experiencing. It gives me great pleasure to know that I am making a some-what small contribution to my local community as it allows me to develop new skills as well as enhance my leadership, organisation and communication
