Critical analysis

Critical Analysis #5 To this point Victor is accused for the murder of Henry and is put into jail. The court later then, based on evidence, releases victor as innocent and now he may return to Geneva. Victor stops at Paris to rest, and then returns to Geneva to Elizabeth wanting to tell her his secret, but until after the wedding. He decides to take her off to a much hidden family cottage and marries her there. Later Victor makes the biggest mistake by sending Elizabeth to bed while he searched for the monster, which in the end killed Elizabeth. Victor tells a magistrates about his secret and Elizabeth, but believes nothing. He goes to tell his father and his father also drops dead from the shocking situation. All Victor can do is search and fight the monster. The creature has left clues in order for Victor to follow him. Victor then dies on the ship after the men decide to go home. Walton returns and finds the monster crying for Victor. Planning for his suicide, the monster walks away into the darkness. I believe that Victor played this mother role to perhaps portray the role of mothers back in Mary’s era. Not saying Mary had any anger towards her mother, but like her mother passed away after she was born, Victor walked out of the creature’s life right at that moment. This may also demonstrate how taking care of a child was a major responsibility, but at the same time not having a parent also was able to affect the child in his actions.
