SUBJECT: Critical Skills Retention Bonus (CSRB) Program

1. Purpose: To summarize Milper Message 12-379, Critical Skills Retention Bonus (CSRB) Program 2. Facts:

a. Milper Message 12-379 is effective 30 November 2012 and will expire 31 December 2012.

b. Regular Army enlisted Soldier who qualify in Career Management Field (CMF) 18, with a minimum grade of E7 and Total Years of Active Service (TAFS) of 19 – 23 years may qualify for the CSRB. By law, CSRB payments cannot exceed 25 years of active service.

c. Eligible CMF 18 E7s may extend for 24 to 48 months for a lump sum bonus of $18,000 to $50,000. 18Z SF Senior E8-E9s may extend for 24 to 72 months for a lump sum bonus of $18,000 to $150,000.

d. Soldiers serving an indefinite reenlistment
