Abstract
The internet has pierced itself into people’s professional and personal lives. The influence of the internet has such an impact on us that many people acquire an addiction to it and this is causing serious concerns. This study is intended to produce a correlative model between internet addiction and three variables: gender, marital status, and having children or not. This study included a survey of 27 females and 25 male asking eleven question regarding variable classification, internet usage, and its impact on social situations, sleep, and productivity. The questionnaire results indicated not a high enough percentage to reflect internet addiction with any of the variables, just a causal relationship of each towards it. Proving that the mean of the population may stay longer on the internet than anticipated, but they have its usage under control. Further research is needed to explicate what the “internet” should consist of and a correlation study needs to be conducted to see the correlation of acquaintances and anonymous groups to internet addiction.
