Crocs has several core competencies. However, most of their core competencies and competitive advantage stems from their extremely well-coordinated supply chain and their supply chain management. Croc’s use of supply chain management sets them apart from competitors in the footwear industry. Supply chain management involves coordinating activities across the supply chain (suppliers, distributors, transportation, retailers, etc.). Central to this is taking customer demand and translating it into corresponding activities at each level of the supply chain. When Croc’s acquired Foam Creations, they opened more production stores in different spots across the globe. This allowed the company to have a supply capacity far greater than expected demand. By doing this, Croc’s can fill orders much faster than many other competitors. Another benefit of this coordinated supply chain is analyzing and reacting to trends. If a certain product or creation seems to be taking off or quickly becomes popular, Croc’s can fulfill the heightened demand of that product. Since they own most of their supply chain, the company can efficiently manage the production and delivery of its products, in a timely manner in which consumers love and are willing to pay extra for. This process also minimizes and potentially eliminates problems of stock shortages and extra product waste. Croc’s creates value in its supply chain management.…

What comes to mind when one thinks of love? The story of Romeo and Juliet is usually one of the first things, but most people think that this tragedy has a happy ending. No, The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet ends by the two star crossed lovers killing themselves out of love. The tragedy was written by William Shakespeare, who was well known for his use of figurative language in his many, many great works of literature. These types of language depict certain characteristics about characters in the play that normal language would not be able to accomplish. One of these characters is Mercutio, who talks in long, drawn out satire that is riddled with puns and metaphors, which create in one’s mind the image of one of the greatest characters of all time. Another one of these characters is Romeo himself, whose language shows him transforming throughout the play. His language, though, is of love. There are two types of love that Romeo experiences first hand: selfish, courtly love, and selfless, true love. In The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo’s language changes to reflect his development in the play from a selfish, courtly lover to a selfless, true lover of Juliet.…

    Crocs Executive Summary

The Crocs management proven to be vary competent. Since establishment it has been focusing on three issues: counteracting the market and industry risk; decreasing production costs; adapting market trend. Firstly, it is notable that in footwear and apparel industry, large retailers with strong bargaining power shift inventory-holding risk to manufacturer while grasping other benefits. But Crocs has successfully developed a variety of distribution channels that dissipate the retailers' impact, improving the inventory turnover(See Chart 1). Moreover, while in 2007 the shrinking US economy led to the general market recession, Crocs still managed to exceed the profit expectation thanks to its global marketing strategy. It is expected that its markets in Brazil, India and China will bring significant revenue growth in the future. Secondly, to minimize production costs, Crocs substantially and successful depends on third-party-operated factories for footwear production and the acquisitions of smaller corporations like Foam Creation and EXO that offer special materials or intermediate products. As can been seen in Chart 1, the Cost of Sales/Sales ratio was decreasing from 2003 to 2007. Thirdly, through several acquisitions, Crocs has been increasingly featuring product customization and environmentally-friendly nature for its products, thus guaranteeing their future market occupation.…
